Thomas Jefferson HS Swimming and Diving Team: TJ Swimming News

Our second Booster Club meeting was held on November 8, 2011.  Thanks to all who attended, and welcome to all new swimmers and divers!

The big news is that our home pool is changing - starting this year, we will be swimming at the Elizabeth-Forward HS pool!  The practice schedule at EF will be Monday through Friday from 5-6:30 pm starting on November 18.  Diving practices will be on Monday, Tuesday, and Fridays (but all divers are encouraged to try swimming too.) There will be a bus for ALL team members to get the practice that will leave TJ at 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.   Expected return to TJ will be around 7:15 pm.  There may also be dry land practices or other arrangements on Saturdays; stay tuned for updated from Coach Amy.

The other news is... our Coaching staff has now been finalized.

Ms. Amy Wrobleski will now be our Head Swimming Coach as well as our diving coach, and Ms. Molly Michael, Mr. John Penn and Ms. Becky Penn will be assistant swimming coaches.

Thanks to the TJSD Booster Club officers for this year:  Barb Hill--President, Cathy Scanlon--Vice-President, Kim Eaton--Treasurer, and Mark Zarlino--Secretary.

Our two current fundraisers are:

1.  TJ "Bring It On" Flags - $10 for the garden size and $20 for the yard size.  Contact Mark Zarlino if you need more flags to sell.

2.  Penguin's raffle tickets - Sell chances to win 2 seats for 5 Pens games!  Each chance is only $5 and will be based off of the 7:00 daily number drawing on December 1.  Contact Cathy Scanlon if you need more tickets to sell! All money and ticket stubs are due by Monday November 28 - drop it off at Kim Eaton's house (227 Dutch Lane).

Our next Booster Club meeting is tentatively scheduled for December 6, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the TJ Cafeteria.
