Monday, July 9 Tiverton Major Girls Fall To Middletown Tiverton Girls 11-12 majors fell to Middletown 3-0 Sunday at Daniels Field at Town Farm. Middletown Behind the strong pitching of Ashley Sanders and timely hitting of Glenn Murphy was too much for the Tiverton Girls to handle this day. Ashley Struck out 11 walks only two, and allowed 2 hits as no Tiverton batters reached second base. Glenn Murphy of Middletown provided all the firepower needed with a 3 inning, two out, bases loaded double, clearing the bases for the only 3 runs scored in the game. Glenn took a 1-2 fastball and lined it into right field icing the game for Middletown. Tivertons Bianca Diprato pitched brilliantly, striking out 10 walking 2 and allowing 2 hits, both to Glenn Murphy. She matched the Middletown ace pitch for pitch until and after the third inning. Hannah Glowaki made an outstanding catch in the 4 inning to hold the score at 3-0, Haley Higginbottom and Lisa Feliciano had the only two hits for Tiverton. Tiverton Girl's remain active int the RI D2 All Star Tournament, their next game will be Tuesday July 10 at Forbes Field at 5:30p in Riverside against Riverside. This will be a rematch of an earlier round game in which Tiverton won 5-1. Friday, July 4 Tiverton 11-12 Girls Defeat Riverside 5-1 Jenny Burton pitched 6 strong innings walking 4 striking out 10, and allowing only 1 earned run as Tiverton posts their second win and remains in the winner bracket of the RI D2 Little League Tournament. Bianca DiPrato had three hits and a RBI, Lisa Feliciano was 2-2 with a RBI, and Sarah Whiston chipped in with one hit. Catcher Taylor Flynn throws out 2 potential base runner trying to steal second and was the defensive star of the game. Tiverton 11-12 Girls next game will be against Newport County Rival Middletown on Sunday July 8, 5:30p at Daniels Field at Town Farm Recreational Complex Friday, June 29 11-12 Girls Softball Post Victory over Rumford Tiverton Little League 11-12 girls softball team defeated Rumford 12-0 behind the pitching of Bianca DiPrato. Bianca stuck out 5 walked 4 and didn't allow a hit in in 4 innings earning the win. Rachael Pimentel had 2 hits; Taylor Flynn had 1 hit a double and an RBI in the victory. Liz Janick made a nice defensive play at first base to help seal the victory. Tiverton's next game will be Saturday June 30 at 10:00a at Daniels Field at Town Farm.
