Carpenter Finishes Season Strong with Georgia Games Victory
July 23,2001 Atlanta, GA Austin Carpenter (sub-bantam) was in rare form and showed why his father has nicknamed him "The Future". Austin finished first in the 1600M run on Sunday at the Georgia Games Championship held at Life College with a personal best time of 5:49.32. During the seaon, Austin took a whopping 66 seconds off his time to become one of the more dominant distance runners in the country. He finished the season ranked #4 in the nation for his age group.
