We did put a committee in place over the weekend and we are still looking for a few more parents to join. The committee will decide on fundraising proposals & trip activities that will be given to the board for approval. We can take up to three 8th grade football players & any amount of 8th grade cheerleaders.

We are also looking for 7th grade Junior football players & cheerleaders, 2nd year Widget football players & cheerleaders that are interested in going. 1st year widget football players & cheerleaders are also welcome as you can start raising funds for the 2011 trip.

If you would like to join the committee, start fundraising, or have questions, please feel free to contact President Mark Mellenthin - 708-285-1452 or mellenthinfamily@comcast.net .

The board has approved selling community discount cards for fundraising for the trip. Cards cost $10.00 apiece & $5.00 per card will be credited to your child's account. We will be starting this up in the next week or so.

Please take the following steps to ensure your child(ren) are ready for practices & games when it is hot outside.

Inform your child(ren) if they start feeling sick at practice or a game that they tell their coach immediately.

Practices will be canceled if a heat warning is issued by the National Weather Service.

Tax Time Info:

Did you know:
Out-of-pocket charitable contributions. It’s hard to overlook the big charitable gifts you made during the year, by check or payroll deduction. But the little things add up, too, and you can write off out-of-pocket costs you incur while doing good works. Ingredients for casseroles you regularly prepare for a nonprofit organization’s soup kitchen, for example, or the cost of stamps you buy for your school’s fundraiser count as a charitable contribution. If you drove your car for charity in 2007, remember to deduct 14 cents per mile.
*For more on commonly overlooked tax deductions-click onto the heading to get to the link.
