Preparations for Hot practices & game days

Please take the following steps to ensure your child(ren) are ready for practices & games when it is hot outside.

  1. Make sure you child(ren) are in an air-conditioned envrionment for 2 hours before arriving to practice/game. This will give their bodies enough time to cool down from any activities that they had been participating in earlier that day.
  2. Make sure they drink plenty of water starting 2 hours prior to practice. This will prevent them from dehydrating during practices/games.
  3. Make sure they bring fluids with them to practice. Water, gatorade or propel are acceptable.

Inform your child(ren) if they start feeling sick at practice or a game that they tell their coach immediately.

A coach will call you if practice has been canceled due to the heat and/or any other conditions.

    Tax Time Info:

    Did you know:
Out-of-pocket charitable contributions. It’s hard to overlook the big charitable gifts you made during the year, by check or payroll deduction. But the little things add up, too, and you can write off out-of-pocket costs you incur while doing good works. Ingredients for casseroles you regularly prepare for a nonprofit organization’s soup kitchen, for example, or the cost of stamps you buy for your school’s fundraiser count as a charitable contribution. If you drove your car for charity in 2007, remember to deduct 14 cents per mile.

We had a quite successful commmittee meeting on Monday-Thank you to all who were in attendance!
We did discussing ideas on how to best get the word out about the "Titans". A lot of great ideas! -One of the ideas that came out is to try to purchase a banner that hangs across 79th Street by city hall. The cost is estimated at approx. $300-$400 dollars. The Trybula family feels so strongly about making this happen- they have offered to donate $200 dollars to the cause. We are asking if anybody else would be willing to donate to meet our goal of purchasing the banner. If you are interested in donating for this good cause, please contact President Mark Mellenthin- 708-285-1452 or you can click onto the donations folder. Thank you to the Trybula family & anyone who does donate.
