VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE 2009 SEASON!
The entire Bobcats Softball Program is organized and run completely by parent volunteers who serve as commissioners, league reps., managers, coaches and team moms for the development of girls in fastpitch softball.
Parent volunteers are needed for the 2009 season. If you have already thought about the possibility of helping the Bobcats . . . perhaps now is a good time to consider it again. Please contact the Bobcats if you can lend a hand!
To be involved in any of the Bobcats recreational programs, each team commits to run the concession stand at Bettenhausen Park as well as candy fundraising program. In addition, donations from businesses, companies, and individuals are always welcome as the Bobcats is a non-profit, tax-exempt civic organization dedicated to helping our south suburban youth. You can help by donating your time, talents, resources. To begin your corporate donation now, contact the Bobcats Hotline and connect with the "Girls Softball" line.
If you have any questions about the Bobcats Softball Program, please feel free to call the Bobcats Hotline: (708) 532-9033.
Tinley Park Bobcat Request Policy
It is the main objective of the Tinley Park Bobcats to provide positive experiences and “organized fun” for the members of our organization. It has become apparent over the last few years that a great deal of emphasis has been placed on honoring requests rather than creating a equitable and competitive league. This has happened in most of our sports and has resulted in teams being unbalanced, and subsequently a great number of players, parents and coaches being frustrated.
The commissioners and league reps for each sport will review their ratings systems and assemble teams based on the ratings and creating a competitive balance rather than honoring all requests. In all cases the “ratings” of the respective players will take precedence over a request.
Please note that a request is just that, a REQUEST, and not a guarantee. Please be aware of this before you register your child for any of the Bobcats sports. Requests are limited to one per player.

SATURDAY NIGHT LEAGUE For those interested in playing more recreational-level games, but against other teams in the south suburbs as part of the South Suburban Girls Athletic League (SSGAL).
Tinley Park Bobcats also offers what we call our Saturday Night League. Teams are composed of girls from the in-house recreational program and have registered for this league at softball recreational registration (information noted above). There are no try-outs for this optional league; however, Bobcats requires that players in the Saturday Night League also play on their "in-house" recreational team. The Saturday Night League games are scheduled not to conflict with inhouse play, and can vary from one to two additional games in a week during the regular season. If interested in Saturay Night League, sign up at softball registration.
COMPETITVE PLAY LEAGUES & AGE DIVISIONS Player must be age indicated on January 1. For girls interested in playing at the competitive-level against other travel teams from other towns, participate in tournaments, and be part of a longer playing season, Tinley Park Bobcats currently offers four girls fastpitch travel teams. Players on these teams commit to practice and play for their softball travel teams only (no recreational inhouse play) within a longer playing season than recreational teams. Players should check this website in July and August for try-out details. For information, contact the travel softball comissioner Todd Swaw 708-243-1188.
