Tigers Earn Fourth Consecutive Trip to the State Play-Offs
The #8 seed Tigers had to grind through two games to win their fourth consecutive District Championship. In the first district playoff game, the Tigers defeated old time Metro League foe Sheridan 7-3. Nerves showed early as the Tigers fell behind 2-0 after the top of the first and then again 3-2 going into the bottom of the third. In the third, the Tigers took their first lead of the game putting up a four spot. Jacob Tinnon would be hit with the first pitch of the inning. Garrett West would single two batters later. Joe Walls would ignite the Tigers with a two run double on a 2-2 pitch. Elliott would follow Walls with an RBI triple. The Tigers would add one more insurance run in the bottom of the sixth. Senior Lous Simpson would toss a complete game striking out seven. Develin Granberg and Jay Elliott would each tally two base hits Bayfield would defeat Buena Vista 6-4 setting up the afternoon's championship matchup. Bayfield gambled and saved their ace for the championship game but the Tigers were more than equal to the challenge. After spotting the Wolverines two runs to start the game, the Tigers would send the message early that they were not intimidated by statistics. The Tigers would get two baserunner when Junior Jay Elliott came to the plate. With two outs Jay would square up a 2-1 pitch and promptly launch it over the left field fence for a 3-2 lead! The Tigers would add another run in the third courtesy of Senior Joe Walls. Bayfield would score single runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game. In the bottom of the fifth, tied 4-4, the Tigers would take the lead for good, Joe Walls would drive in his second run of the game. The Tigers would add one more unearned run in the frame. After a scoreless sixth, the drama was about to unfold. The Wolverines would load the base with no outs. The Tigers would make a pitching change and Adrian Do would take the mound. The game was very possibly decided on Do's 2-2 pitch to the Wolverine's seven hole hitter. Do delivered a fastball to the plate that would be lined sharply to center. As Elliott closed in on the ball, the runner on third retreat to the bag to tag up. Elliott would catch the ball a mid depth and the runner took off for home. Jay would rocket a perfect strike to home where Chris McManus would apply the tag. Once the dust settle, the Wolverines were left with a runner at first and second with two outs. Do would quickly strike out the next batter on four pitches! Zach Trombley would earn the win and Do his first save of the season. The Tigers will open the 3A State tournament against #1 Seed Faith Christian. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 on Friday at Butch Butler Field. GO TIGERS!!! Wednesday, May 9

FOR 12th STRAIGHT YEAR, TIGERS HELP DELIVER FOOD BASKETS TO LOCAL FAMILIES
For the 12th consecutive year, the Holy Family baseball program participated in a holiday food box drive. On December 17th and 18th, the TIGER baseball program once again partnered up with the local Elks Club 2438 to assemble and deliver food boxes to local families in need. Over 40 players participated in the year's event. On Friday night, the players made very quick work assembling 85 food boxes. Saturday morning, the players returned at 8:00am to deliver the food boxes to families in need. Thank you to all the players who participated. We look forward to continuing this annual tradition with the Elks once again next Christmas.
Again, another example why Holy Family High School is such a special place and the TIGER baseball program is one of the best not only on the field but off too! You will not find another program in the state that gives as much back to the community throughout the year as the Tiger Baseball Program! Great job TIGERS and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!!!

Coach Tom Dedin Joins Tigers Staff as Pitching Coach!
The Holy Family Tiger baseball program is extremely pleased and excited to announce the hiring of Tom Dedin as varsity pitching coach. Coach Dedin joins the Tigers’ coaching staff with over 39 years of head coaching experience, 23 at the collegiate level including Lewis University, Regis University and nine at the University of Illinois in the Big Ten Conference. Last but certainly not least, Coach Dedin coached TEAM USA in the fall of 1988 and summer of 1989.
Coach Dedin has tallied over 800 victories as a head coach and 600 of those at the collegiate level. His track record of success has resulted in his induction to multiple hall of fames and invitations to be a clinician at several national and international clinics.
There is no doubt Coach Dedin will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the coaching staff and will build on the recent success of the Tigers pitching staff! His hiring will allow Coach Cowell to return as the catcher’s coach and focus on hitting instruction. There is no question the Tiger Baseball Program just got stronger!
Coach Dedin will be formally introduced to the baseball player and families at October’s informational meeting.
