JUNE Swimmers of the Month 2009

June Swimmers of The Month

Josh H.

Josh is an incredibly hard worker.  His goals drive him to work hard everyday and it is that drive that has brought him so much success.  Josh set 2 meet records at the Great Lakes meet, qualifying him for the Summer LCM US Open.  Anyone that has seen Josh race or train knows that it is hard work that has been his key to success.  Josh inspires those around him to work hard which makes him an incredible leader and teammate.

Bethany T.

Bethany is new to the TIDE this spring.  Bethany is an extremely talented athlete.  Mixed with hard work and good stroke mechanics Bethany has dropped a lot of time in many events.  Bethany achieved state cuts for the first time at the Fairfax Swim Meet.  With continued hard work Bethany will grow to be a very successful swimmer.

Caroline M.

In the month of June Caroline had good practice attendance and a great attitude.  Caroline has been working hard on her stroke technique and her hard work is paying off.  Caroline has achieved many best times in practice and raced for the first time in a long course pool at Fairfax.  Caroline is encouraging to her teammates and a lot of fun to be around.

Zoe H.-Zoe is an Elite swimmer.  Zoe attends all the morning practices along with the afternoon practices.  Zoe is an extremely hard worker.  She works on both her training and technique.  Zoe was a major part of TIDE's first place finishes in the 200 Medley and 400 Medley Relays at State.  Zoe is a great backstroker and has continued to show improvements in all her strokes.

Andrew M.-Andrew recently moved from the Novice to the Intermediate training group.  Andrew has improved so much since he began swimming with the TIDE last Fall.  Andrew has a great breaststroke, free and backstroke and is currently learning butterfly.  Andrew has had a great practice attendance this Spring.

Kit C.-Kit recently moved from the Junior Group to the JE Group (this is a big increase in training time and yardage).  Kit has done a great job with this jump.  She is willing to do anything the coaches ask of her.  She works hard on her stroke technique and training.  We are happy to see her time improvements during sprints and Weds and are looking forward to the rest of her season.

APRIL SWIMMERS OF THE MONTH

Hannah: Hannah is an Elite swimmer and has taken extra steps during the spring season to advance her stroke technique.  She has started coming to morning practices regularly and is doing an exceptional job in her workouts.

Lydia: Lydia is a junior swimmer that has recently moved up from the Intermediate group.  Lydia made it to every single practice in April, which is very hard for a new junior level swimmer.  Lydia works very hard on perfecting her stroke technique and her drops in times have been a great indicator of all her hard work.
