TIDE HOME MEET January 9, 10, 2010
'Tis the season to register your swimmers for the HOME MEET. Please see the attachment for meet information. Our home meet is an exciting opportunity for our swimmers to compete, so please plan to attend!
Also, please mark your calendars that entries are due on December 22. Sorry, no late entries can be accepted!
PARENTS, IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOU TURN IN ENTRY FORMS FOR THIS MEET AND FOR ALL MEETS. We are thrilled that our team is growing and that more and more swimmers are attending meets! In order for us to do the best possible job as coaches in entering our swimmers in specific meets, appropriate events and relays, we need the completed entry forms by the entry deadline. Please help us out by using the forms we provide and by adhering to the deadlines. THANKS!

Parents of Junior Elite Swimmers- notice of practice location changes
To the Parents of Junior Elite Swimmers:
Tide is growing! In order to assure adequate lane space and coaching attention for our junior elite swimmers, many winter season practices for JUNIOR ELITE swimmers will be held a John Muir (instead of at the UWMC) during the normal practice times. Please make note of the following dates and plan to drop off and pick up your swimmer at John Muir Middle School.
DECEMBER: 1, 3, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22
JANUARY: 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26, 28
FEBRUARY: 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 11, 16

TIDE SWIMMER (and COACH) MAKE NATIONAL YOUTH TEAM
Congratulations to Dak Stone, making the USA swimming 2009-2010 National Youth Team in the 100 breast. The top 6 swimmers in the nation for 18 and under qualify for the team! KUDOS to DAK!
Dak Stone, a member of the TIDE Swim Club in Wausau, earned a position on USA Swimming's 2009-2010 National Youth Team. Stone achieved national team status for his time in the 100 Meter Breaststroke swum at the Speedo Junior National Championships in Seattle in August.
Criteria for making the national team was to be in the top six times in the nation swum in Olympic events at the following 2009 higher level swim meets: the ConocoPhillips National Championships, World Championship Trials, U.S. Open and the Speedo Junior National Championships. Also, only males and females ages 18 and under and who were not attending university in the fall of 2009 could qualify.
Abby Dunham, Head Coach of the Wausau TIDE and who coaches Stone, was named to the National Team coaching staff.

BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES
TIDE is a premier club, with outstanding coaches, dedicated swimmers and supportive parents.
TIDE is a customer of the UWMC; we pay for pool time. We are grateful that we can rent the UWMC pool. Please help us maintain a positive relationship with UWMC.
Please make sure your swimmer(s) respect University property and follow posted rules.
Over the past two years, the number of justifiable complaints from the University has increased. The complaints concern swimmers’ behavior on and with University property. Access the pool deck from the locker rooms, not the office. Do not distract coaches from the balcony.
Parents are responsible for their child(ren)’s behavior.

We are excited that the TIDE Swim Club continues to grow. In order to respond to member questions in the most efficient manner, we have set up new channels of communication within the club. Please use these channels to get information and answers to the questions you may have: First: If you cannot find the answer online and need to speak to someone directly, please contact our TIDE Parent Liaison, Brenda Kuhn at 359-9124. Second: If Brenda cannot answer your questions, please contact Head Assistant Coach, Judy Sichterman. She prefers to be contacted via email at jsichterman@charter.net. Judy can also be reached by phone at 715-571-1117. You may need to leave a message. Third: If your question or concern needs to be addressed by Head Coach, Abby Dunham, she prefers to be contacted via email at wausautide@yahoo.com. To speak to her directly, she can be reached by phone during her office hours: 1- 2 pm on Tuesdays/Thursdays (Ph: 715-297-4175). The Wisconsin Swimming website can also be a source for state meet information and results, as well as club meet schedules and results. Check it out when you have time.www.wisconsinswimming.org.
