Tee-Ball

(boys and girls, 5-7 years)

Tee-Ball: League age 5-7
For boys and girls, who are league age 5 by April 30 of the current year.
At the beginning of the season, players hit primarily from a tee with progression towards coach pitch in the latter part of the season and only if the player’s skill and attitude indicates they’re ready. The game uses a soft safety baseball. At least one year of experience in this division is recommended before advancing to the Coach Pitch Division. Teams are formed by geographic location. The cost is includes a jersey and hat. Baseball pants, sleeves and socks are optional and left up for each team to decide.

What to bring to registration?
v Original State Certified Birth Certificate (see below)

v
3 different documents showing proof of current residence (see below)

v
Your child for uniform sizing

v
Registration fees. We only accept cash, check, money order or
      cashier’s check.

In an effort to have everyone prepared, please review the list for mandatory documents. We will have to view them for every child, regardless of age, to be eligible to register to play baseball or softball. We will view this documents and immediately returned them to you. We do not need photocopies for our records.

Please bring an Original State Certified Birth Certificate.

Little League only accepts State Certified Birth Certificates. Nothing Else! If your child was born in Lane County, you can go to the County Courthouse and obtain a copy within minutes. If your child was born out of state, you can order for any state over the internet with a credit card: www.vitalrec.com is a commonly-used site. If your child was born in a military hospital overseas, military documentation such as a passport or original (non-hospital) government-issued document will do.

Bring three (3) different documents showing proof of current residence.
These can be one each of the following:
(1) drivers license
(1) voter’s registration card
(1) school record or report card
(1) tax document
(1) homeowner or tenant property insurance
(1) utility bill
(1) federal or state-issued document addressed to your residence.

The documents MUST show the actual street address you have listed on your registration form and not a PO Box. As a clearer example: Little League cannot take for one player "two drivers licenses" or "two voter registration cards" or "two school records" or "three utility bills." An example of three documents commonly brought to registration is a driver’s license, school report card, and (1) utility bill. With the exception of the driver’s license and voter’s registration card, documents for proof of residence should not be older than 3 months.

Please bring these mandatory documents with you to Registration. You will NOT be allowed to register your child(ren) without them regardless of how long you have waited in line or your hectic schedule for the remainder of the day, etc. If you do not bring these documents with you, you will be asked to return with them before you can register, fill out paperwork, or pay your fees. NO EXCEPTIONS REGARDLESS. If you have any questions, please call 726-0290 or send us an email at thurstonlittleleague@yahoo.com. We’re here to help make this process as easy and as smooth as possible.

Uniform Policy:Please bring your player(s) to registration so that you may carefully and accurately fill out the uniform sizing information. We have provided samples for players to try on to assist you with proper sizing. There will be no changes to uniform sizing once you have completed the registration process regardless of how it might fit once you receive your player(s) uniform. The Junior Division will be required to return their full button jerseys.

Please note: late registrations will NOT be accepted, we will NOT allow you to register by mail, and there will be NO registration at Player Evaluations. If you miss your opportunity to register, we apologize and hope to see you next season. The calendar link on the left reflects our registration dates in February-locations to be announced so please check back often.

Tee-Ball (Baseball): ages 5 thru 7 on April 30th
For boys and girls, who are league age 5 by April 30 of the current year.
At the beginning of the season, players hit primarily from a tee with the addition of coach pitch. The game uses a soft safety baseball. At least one year of experience in this division is recommended before advancing to the Coach Pitch Division. Teams are formed by geographic location. The cost includes a jersey and hat. Baseball pants, sleeves and socks are optional and left up for each team to decide.

Coach-Pitch Minor Baseball: ages 7-8 on April 30th
For boys and girls, who are 7 and 8 on April 30 of the current year. A coach pitches to players. The game uses a regulation baseball. This division is recommended for those players who have a basic understanding and proficiency of the game with typically one year of T-ball. Two years of playing at this level is recommended before advancing to the Minor Division. Teams are formed by geographic location. Players, league age 6, showing baseball experience and ability with one year of TBall, may be placed in this division. The cost includes a jersey, baseball pants, belt, and hat. Sleeves and socks are not included.
**We do not offer Coach Pitch Softball as players this age have trouble properly throwing and catching an 11" softball. It is typically too large for their small hands.

Player-Pitch Minor Baseball: ages 9-11 on April 30th
For boys and girls, who are league age 9 through 11 by April 30 of the current year. Still a fully instructional division, players pitch to players using a regulation baseball. It is recommended that players complete at least 2 years of Coach Pitch Division and/or can show baseball proficiency and ability to play at this level. Players will be required to go through at least one player evaluation to be eligible for an All Star Tournament Team and for possible recommendation for a Major Division Baseball Team. Teams are formed after the completion of the Major Division Draft by boundary location and ability, which is based on their evaluation score. Evaluations are NOT try-outs. All registered players will be assigned to a team. Evaluations are a process used only as a tool to make sure a player can safely compete at this level. The cost includes a jersey, baseball pants, belt, and hat. Sleeves and socks are not included.

Major Baseball: league age 9-12 on April 30th
(Major Division) For boys and girls, who are league age 9 thru 12 on April 30 of the current year. Players pitch to players using a regulation baseball. Recommended for players who have played 2 years in the Minor Division. Players selected to this division must show an advanced proficiency and ability in order to compete safely with other players. This is demonstrated through participation in at least one player evaluation. Evaluations are NOT try-outs. All registered players, league age 10-12, will be assigned to a Minor or Major Division Baseball Team. An evaluation is a process used only as a tool to ensure a player can safely compete at this level. This is primarily based on their evaluation score. Players must participate in the evaluation process to be eligible for this division and to be eligible for an All Star Tournament Team. Players are assigned to teams through a draft selection process within the League’s boundary map. Any player who played in the Major Division Baseball Team in the previous year will remain in the Major Division; however, each player must go through evaluations each season in order to be eligible for an All Star Tournament Team. Parents may request through the League Player Agent that their player NOT be considered for a Major Division Baseball Team. The cost includes a jersey, baseball pants, belt, and hat. Sleeves and socks are not included.
