Ben Boller and Dustin Baker had three hits for Thurmont, and Jorden Hahn reached on an error in the top of the 6th inning that allowed two runs to score to rally Thurmont from a 5-2 deficit and defeat Frederick American, 8-5, in the Maryland District 2 10/11 Tournament. The win sends Thurmont into the championship game in the losers bracket tonight at Frederick National (Robert B. Staley Stadium) at 6 pm. Cory Yingling and Travis Connor added two hits, while Mark Goff, Logan Willard, and Landon Wivell combined for the win. American's Noah Chaney hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first to help American build a 5-2 lead, then Thurmonts pitching and defense took over until the bats came alive in the top of the 6th. In other action last night, Brunswick defeated National, 9-1, to advance to Saturdays title game. Justin Walls and Andrew Wanger homered while Tyler Babyak hurled a complete game two-hitter for Brunswick who now waits for the winner of the Thurmont/Frederick National game. Brunswick will host the winner Saturday night at 5 pm.
EAST FREDERICK WINS DISTRICT 2 9/10 TITLE...
East Frederick held off Brunswick, 4-2, to win the 2009 nMaryland District 2 9/10 Tournament and a trip to the State Tournament beginning Saturday, at Willards Little League Field in Wicomico County.
11/12 YEAR OLDS ...
Thurmont travels to East Frederick on July 11th in an opening round game for the 11/12 Tournament, with the winner facing Four County on July 12th. Other first round pairings include Brunswick versus Frederick National and Frederick American hosting Westminster.

The 2009 Thurmont Baseball FALL League will be starting soon!!! More info will be coming as we receive it, League ages are Minor Division 7-8, Major Division 9-12...these ages are as of April 30th...2010... if you are interested in signing your child up to play during the fall season, please email me at jims610@verizon.net, with your child's name, age as of April 30, 2010, your name, address, phone number, and email address...as we get more information we will pass it along, to include, sign up dates...
