2001 Inductees

Karen Ball
KB started with the Thunderbirds in 1994 and finished in 1999. She was an original Thunderbird. As a pitcher she won many honors in her high school career. She was twice selected to the Suburban 1 first team and was a first team all-area. She is attending King's College and is an Academic All-American and 2nd team all-Conference as a sophomore, 1st team all-conference as a junior. In her senior season she broke all of the Kings College pitching stats, 1st team all-conference, conference pitcher of the year, NCAA All-American, and academic all-american She will be returning to the Thunderbirds as the pitching coach.

Kim Ball
Kim was an original Thundebird playing from 1994 to 2000. In High School she recieved many honors for catching, from honorable mention to first team All-Suburban. She is currently in her second season as the starting catching for King's College. Kim is one of the best defensive catchers in the area, her quickness behind the plate keeps runners close to the base. This will be her Senior year at Kings College. She will return to the Thunderbirds as a bench and catcher coach.

Sarah Derstine "Dirt"
Sarah played for the Thunderbirds for five years from 1995 to 2000. She played third and was moved to centerfield in 2000. Sarah is currently attending MCCC and will enter West Chester in the fall of 2001 to continue her softball and education.

2002 Inductees

Stacey Denlinger "Denny"
Stacey played for the Thunderbirds from the age of thirteen. She was on the first 14&U team. Stacey became one of the top players in the area. As a pitcher she was selected first team all-suburban her Junior and Senior season with. In her Sophmore year she was selected first team all-suburban at third. Stacey will continue playing at Kutztown University.

Danille Carroll " Dannie"
Dannie came to the Thunderbirds at the age of fifteen. Dannie was a complete player and had one of the best arms around. As a catcher she was the leader of the team and could throughout any runner. Dannie would hit with power but also play the short game. Dannie received many honors in high school for her catching ability. Dannie could also play an above average left field and with her arm could hold runners from taking that extra base. Dannie will continue her playing at Alvernia Collge.

2003 Inductees

Nicole Shoemaker
Nicole starting playing for the eighteen and under when she was only thirteen. Nicole turned into one of the best utility players in the area. She was an above average player at third base and the outfield. In her five years with the team she played every position except pitch. Nicole will be missed not only for her game but also the knowledge she has of the game and her leadership.

Stefanie Clugston
Stef started out with the original 14 and Under Thunderbirds. Stef had great bat control, hitting second in the lineup to move runners. She could also get on if the number one did not. Her base speed was deceptive. Stef played second base and was one of the best at her position, she posted a .963% fielding average. Her leadership will be missed.

Courtney Hughes
Courtney is one of the original 14 & U Thunderbirds. She starting playing at the 18 & u level when she was only 15. When she came to the 18's she was going to be an outfielder. Instead due to an injury she was put at shortstop. Courtney became one of the best shortstops in the area. Winning many awards at high school and on the travel circuit. In her last two seasons with the team she batted over 420 and had a 978% fielding. Last season she lead the team in RBI,s was second in stolen bases, and first in slugging percentage. Courtney was a great inspiration for the younger players. Always had a smile and loved the game.

2005 Inductees

Megan Ritchey
Megan played in the Thunderbird Organization from the age of 14. Megan was one of the organization premier Pitchers. With her speed she was counted on to win games as well as come in as reliever. Megan was also used in the outfield and could hit for average and had power. Megan was counted on heavily her last two seasons with the organization. She will play at Moravan College.

Kristin Dickel
Kristin played primarily 1st base in her career. She was also seen roaming the outfield. She started playing for the Thunderbirds as a 14&U and went all the way through the organziation. Kristin is a left handed power hitter that can also lay down a perfect bunt when called on. Kristin was very skilled at her defensive position and that earned her a position at George Mason University.

Caitlin Hague
Caitlin started with the Thunderbirds as a 14&U player. She played third and also was a catcher. Caitlin was one of the best behind the plate calling a game and handling the young Pitchers. With her quick release and strong arm she could through any runner. Caitlin is playing for the Golden Bears at Kutztown.

Jackie Messina
Usually our hall of fame is for players that played in the organization for a min. of four years. Jackie Messian played for the organization for only three seasons. With the talent that she has it would be inapporate not to bring her in with this group of players. She is a one of kind player. Jackie was a superb player. She hits right and left handed and has power from the right side. In her three seasons she had a batting average of .438 a fielding percentage of .987. Opposing coaches feared her on the bases. In a close game if she got on she could totally take control. When Jackie would get to first it was almost assured that would turn into a triple before the next batter had three pitches. Jackie is one of the smartest and quickest base runners in the area. In three seasons she was thrown out only four times. Jackie will be running the bases for the Kutztown Golden Bears.
