Threshers vs. Saints
Threshers 1-0 SHARKS SHOW POISE IN THEIR FIRST CONTEST. The Threshers could not seem to find anything that would work against the defense of the NC Saints the first half of Saturday night’s game.  And on the opening drive the Saints would find themselves up in a hurry 7-0.  That would be their last score as the Threshers directly after half time would start out on defense and the shark attack was on.  It was a very exciting half of football for us as we began to get 9-11 guys to the ball on every down defensively and from the onset of the second half it was a totally different ball game.  After the defense did their job and stopped the Saints, the O would take over and put up 18 unanswered points and that would be the final score.  DEER VALLEY THRESHERS 18- NORTH CENTRAL SAINTS 7 The standouts for the night was the entire team for showing some great poise and character during a hard fought game and great comeback.  We need to bring the type of intensity that we showed the second half of the game and if we do, we can play with anyone in this division.   There is no place on the football field for an effort, or I should say a lack of effort, displayed the first half of this game.  You should all expect more out of yourselves and never settle for anything less than the Threshers team you were part of the second half!!!  Stay focused and be ready to go on to the next play and make the effort like it will be your last one, because you never know.  Go home after every practice and be proud of who you see in the mirror and know that you are giving it your all each and every drill, down, and play.  NO ONE OUT WORKS US! Next up for the Threshers, the South Southstars.THRESHERS VS. Pre Season Scrimmage Game

Threshers finish pre-season with scrimmages vs. Scottsdale Rustlers and the North Sonics. The offense started out a little slow in both scrimmages but once they got in a rhythm they seem to move the ball fairly well.  The first scrimmage against the Rustlers found the Sharks moving the ball up and down the field vs. a hard hitting and aggressive team.  The defense was the most surprising as they only had 1 full practice to prepare for the scrimmages and came out attacking the ball in a group very well.  The team was well tested again against the Sonics on Friday as they are always a good team and this year is no different.  They are a big team and all of their defensive players were really good.  Unfortunately the scrimmage was interrupted due to a monsoon storm moving thru.  At times we were trying to figure out if it was the thunder from the storm or just some good ol hard hitting football by both teams.  The Threshers are ready for the season to begin and wish the Rustlers and the Sonics good luck this year and would like to Thank them both for the scrimmages.  Tuesday and Thursday are the practice nights this next week and then our first game!!! HOOOO YAAAAA!!!!!See you all at practice Tuesday!
