January Season Update
RED ROCK INVITE: We will be playing in the Red Rock Invitational located in St. George Utah. This tournament is scheduled for May 6 and 7. At the present time tickets are about $300.00 per person. Please plan accordingly. Also please let me know if you do not plan to attend so we can guarantee that we have enough players. I am trying to make arrangements through Fox Travel in Manitowoc to secure your flights out of either Green Bay or Appleton and in to Las Vegas. We will plan to leave Friday after 5:00 p.m. Return flight can be at your discretion of either Sunday night late or some time on Monday. This is to allow you to take advantage of Vegas for a night. It will allow our Kiwi’s to see the Vegas lights as well.

SPONSORHIP: Players are going to be given the opportunity to use an alternative way to take care of their player fee. Each player can find a business to sponsor them for the season. We are asking each player to have a minimum of $200 in player fees or sponsorship. Remember this money will not be refunded and used to pay for your hotels during the course of the season. If we can begin to secure this by March 1st I can have yearbooks available at the Milk bottle. We also need to use some of this as our start up money for the season. Your help is greatly appreciated on this. I have also included your yearbook page for you to fill in the information and send back to me. I will try to put your stats in for you.

RAFFLE TICKETS: Each player will be required to sell $150.00 worth of raffle tickets to the Milk Bottle tournament. You will need to pay for these tickets in advance. As you sell the tickets you will then recover your money. If any one sells more than their $150.00 we will add that to the amount you will get reimbursed at the Red Rock Tournament. The more you sell the better off you will be.

MILK BOTTLE TOURNAMENT: Each player will be required to help work at the Milk Bottle tournament tentatively on Saturday, March 26th. We will have time schedules for everyone to work. The more people that we have there the better the event will be for all. We need to have a minimum of 10 people working at all times. We need 2 people in each pit, and 2 floaters.

The Bar / Circle Tap 2005 AAU International Champions
The Bar teams and Circle Tap Softball team combined to compete in the 2005 AAU International Fastpitch Competition and came away with excellent results.  The team was able to go 7 and 0 and win the title.

The teams started off the weekend with a 2 hour flight delay. We were hoping to get to the warm weather of Florida but would have to wait.  When we got their it was actually a little cooler than we thought it would be.

Friday turned out to be an excellent day weather wise and ball playing wise.  We started our competition off by takin gon the Memphis Posse.  The TB/CT team secured a 6 to 1 victory behind the 4 hit pitching of Rob Scheller.  Leading in hitting were Chris Miljavac (2x4), Trevor Ethier (2x3), Don Garvey (2x2), Chad Mix (2x3) and Chris Delarwelles 1st Home Run.

In game two TB/CT faced the Legendary Darren Zack and his Six Nations Team.  The TB/CT team was able to throw up 4 runs on the Legend.  The team was led by Chris Delarwelle's 2 run homer in the first and Robbie O'Briens (2x3) and Steve Sells (2x3) multi hit games.  Dewey Dyck threw a 3 hit game to lead the team on the mound.

In Game three the TB/CT team took on the Miami Cardinals.  The Cardinals put up four runs on the TB/CT pitchers but the hitting led by  Chris Miljavac (2x4), Jon Zipperer (3x4), Darren Derricks (2x3) put up seven runs to answers.   With the conclusion of this game the TB/CT secured 1st place in its pool.

On Friday the bracket play began with the TB/CT team facing the Texaco Pirates out of the Bahamas.  In a spirited game the level of intensity picked up.  The TB/CT jumped out to a 3 to 0 lead but the Pirates answered with 3 in the third.  The TB/CT added two in the fifth but the Pirates answered with 2 in the bottom of the fifth to tie it.  Chris Miljavac then led off the 6th with a solo homerun to take the lead for good.

On Saturday the TB/CT seeded 5th took on the 4th seeded Bloomington Stix.  The TB/CT used small ball to jump 2 to 0  lead in the bottom of the second on Darren Derricks bunt.  The TB/CT added two more in the 4th when Steve Sell scored on a passed ball and two batters later Tony Schaaf scored on a passed ball from second when the catcher didn't go back to retrieve the ball.  Rob Scheller pitched his second complete game to secure the win.

In what had to feel like the championship game the TB/CT took on the number 1 seeded NY Gremlins and Gerard Muizelaars in the semi finals.  In what was thought to be a low scoring affair turned out to be anything but.  The TB/CT  jumped out to a 1 to 0 lead in the bottom of the first on Trevor Eithier's double and Robbie O'Brien's single.  The Gremlins answered with a run in the top of the third.  The TB/CT added one in the fourth.  Then the flood gates opened.  With 1 out and a runner on first the TB/CT turned what appeared to be a double play but was ruled otherwise.  With a runner on first and two outs the Gremlins exploded for 5 runs, highlighted by a 3 run homer by Paul Walford.  The fired up TB/CT team then responded with 3 runs on homers by Chris Delarwelle and Don Garvey to cut the score to 6 to 5.  The TB/CT added two in the sixth to take a 7 to 6 lead on Trevor Eithier two run blast.  The Gremlins then added 1 in the top of the seventh to tie the score and send it to extra innings.  The Gremlins started with a runner on second but weren't able to advance him any further than third as Trevor Eithier on in relief shut the door.  The TB/CT started with Chad Mix on second.  He advanced to third on a wild pitch while the Gremlins were trying to intentionally walk Chris Miljavac.  Miljavac the walked.  Eithier flew to shallow center which wasn't able to score Mix.  The Gremlins then walked the hot hitting Chris Delarwelle to load the bases.  Then the fun began.  Mike Piechnik then struck out Robbie O'Brien, Chris Miljavac thinking there were 3 outs wandered off of second base, Piechnik threw to second but Miljavac beat the throw. Chad Mix alertly took off for home and scored the winning run in a wild game.

In the finals the TB/CT faced the two time defending Champions Los Socios from Venezuela.  Determined not to have a let down the TB/CT jumped to a 2 to 0 lead in the top of the first. The TB/CT added 2 more in the third but Los Socios kept fighting back adding 3 in the bottom of the third.  The TB/CT added 3 more in the 5th but Los Socios added one in each the 5th and 6th.  Chris Delarwelles 6th Home run of the tournament clinched for the TB/CT boys.

Chris Delarwelle secured MVP honors with his .526 batting average, 10 rbi's and 6 Home runs.  Rob Scheller secured Outstanding pitcher honors with two complete games.
