Eighteen Fighting Irish Players Named to 2011 NFA All-Star Team and Three League Awards Received

As the Fighting Irish push into the playoffs looking for another league championship eighteen members of the team were honored as league all-stars. On August 5th the Northeastern Football Alliance announced complete teams for the East and West divisions. In all the Fighting Irish had 18 players recognized on the NFA All-star team, 7 players were first time All-Stars with 5 players being rookies to the Fighting Irish this year.
The Fighting Irish were also honored at the end of the season All-Star banquet on September 23rd with three members capturing League MVP Awards. Head Coach Pete Porcelli was named the NFA Coach of the Year in the east after a perfect 12-0 season and a second straight NFA Title. Running back Andre McCauley after rushing over 1,000 yards for the second straight season was named NFA Offensive MVP in the east. Also Kicker / Punter Bobby Hummel was named NFA Special Teams MVP in the east after finishing fourth in the league in total scoring on the season.
The following players, as they are all well deserving, were named to the 2011 NFA All-Stars and as a team we are excited to have them back next year. The following players were recognized for their on field accomplishments:

Twenty-Two Fighting Irish Players Named to 2010 NFA All-Star Team and Two League Awards Received

The Fighting Irish in 2010 captured their first ever league championship. To eventually find out after that they received their first ever bowl bid to play in Florida come January. Now for all the hard work that the players put in they get to enjoy some recognition on the league level. On Sunday October 31st the Northeastern Football Alliance announced the league All-Star team, in which players are voted on by member teams. The Fighting Irish captured their first ever League Awards when running back Andre McCauley took home the NFA Offensive MVP, while Head Coach Manny Everett won coach of the year honors. In all the Fighting Irish had 22 players recognized on the NFA All-star team, 17 players were first time All-Stars with 9 players being rookies to the Fighting Irish this year. Congratulations to the following players as they are all well deserving and as a team we are excited to have them back next year. Fighting Irish Name One Player to 2009 National Football Events All-American Team

The National Football Events released an All-American team for the first time since 2004 this past week, and the Fighting Irish once again had a player recognized as an All-American. Defensive back Jamie Merritt was recognized as an Honorable Mention DB. Merritt was the lone player from the Fighting Irish who had an outstanding season and received recognition on the league, and twice on a National level.

Fighting Irish Name Eight Players to Nine Positions for 2009 BCS All-American Team

As the second and final list of the BCS All-Americans came out on November 30th, 2009 the Fighting Irish had its most impressive showing yet of players being recognized on a National level. As the Fighting Irish had three players voted to the MLFN All-American team last month. The Fighting Irish had eight different players chosen at nine different positions on the BCS Summer/Fall 2009 All-American team.
The Fighting Irish nominated nearly fifteen players for this team that was based purely off of 2009 player statistics, where as other All-American teams also factor in other awards, ect.
In total this season the Fighting Irish had eight defensive players, five Offensive players, and two Special Teams players recognized as either All-League or All-American honors. Congratulations to the following players for being 2009 BCS All-Americans!

Minor League Football and Minor League Football News is very proud to announce their Summer/Fall 2009 All-American Team.
More than 200 nominations were sent in from 17 Leagues across the country. The nominations were compiled and representative statistics were compared for each position.
The Summer/Fall All Americans may join with the Winter/Spring All Americans to play in the 2009 Hall of Fame Legends Bowl on December 5th in Las Vegas, NV where they will face the Farnham Knights of the British American Football League.
The Knights are a Premier Division Team from Great Britain and are nearly a constant fixture in the BAFL Playoffs leading up to the Boston Cup which signifies the winner of their National Championship. They are a very worthy opponent.

Ten Fighting Irish Players Named to 2009 NFA All-Star Team

After another solid year on the field, and with the Fighting Irish growing more popular in the local community off the field, the Irish laid claim to another playoff birth and a second straight year invited to the National USFA Harvest Bowl Tournament. Also for the first time in team history the Irish had three players recognized as All-Americans in 2009, and for the second straight year have ten players recognized as All-League. Which six out of the ten All-League players were rookies to the 2009 Fighting Irish which look to build on this past season's team, along with new rookies, for a very successful 2010 season. The Northeastern Football Alliance announced Thursday November 5, 2009, the 2009 NFA All-Stars in an East/West format. The NFA has member teams vote on the All-Stars and the Fighting Irish had ten players recognized for All-Star Honors. The following players were recognized for their on field accomplishments:

After a strong second year season, the Fighting Irish they started to become more nationally recognized organization in the world of Amateur Football with receiving an invitation and playing in the National USFA Harvest Bowl Tournament in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The Northeastern Football Alliance announced the following day, Sunday November 2, 2008, the 2008 NFA All-Stars in an East / West format. The NFA has member teams vote on the All-Stars and the Fighting Irish had ten players recognized for All-Star Honors. The NFA East / West All-Star game will be played sometime in May, at a site TBA. All Fighting Irish players will be apart of the East All-Star team.
