It's SHOWTIME!

Thank you for checking out the Texas Showtime's website.
We are a select softball team based in East Texas but are made up of girls from all over Texas.
We are dedicated to developing our players to the best of their ability, teaching them to respect
their coaches and be accountable to their teammates.
Understanding that winning is important but more so is a great attitude, hard work, and a relentless
commitment to becoming the best player one can be. Our goal is to compete at a high level with our
preparation equaling an outstanding effort so we will always be proud of how we represent our God,
Team Showtime, our families and the great state of Texas.
We love to play and hope that we will see you all on the dirt sometime soon.
Please sign our guest book and leave a link to your website before you leave.
SEE YOU AT THE BALLPARK!

Texas Showtime competes at the 2007 USFA Southern National Tournament
The entire Texas Showtime family loaded up for Mesquite as we watched the Showtime teams compete at the USFA Southern National Tournament in July of 2007. Both teams, Big Showtime and Little Showtime competed. So you can bet that there was a LOT of purple running around in Mesquite that week! We had a great time and really enjoyed getting to watch both teams play.
Pictures are in the album! Check it out!

2007 Texas Showtime Skills Clinic
 |
|
|
 |
Neither Rain, Nor Sleet, Nor Snow,,,,,, will keep us from playing SOFTBALL! I don't think that's how it originally went, but that was definately the theme at the clinic that we held on April 7th. The week before it had been 88 degrees and we were looking forward to a large clinic despite it being Easter weekend. Then long about Wednesday they started calling for colder temperatures and on Thursday and Friday they were calling for Snow. SNOW!!! In TEXAS IN APRIL???? Come on..... Well, low and behold Saturday morning that's just what we got. SNOW! Did that stop us? NO WAY! Our team, parents and volunteers are troopers. We set up in the cold and waited to see if anyone would show up. At about 9:30 they started coming, proving that softball players are the toughest athletes in the world. Well, maybe not toughest, but definately the most committed. We had girls taking part in the clinic from 4 years old to 14 years old and not one complaint. It was an awesome day! The day was made so great by the volunteer coaches that we had.
We would like to send a very special thank you to the following people:
Kelsi Baker, Mesquite Horn High School, Texas Travelers
Daniella Baker, Mesquite High School, Texas Travelers
Megan Brady, Whitehouse High School,
Savannah Holmes, Mineola High School, Texas Mustangs
Sheyene Hooks, Texas Travelers
These girls love the game and shared their love of the game, their knowledge of the game and their committment with our clinic. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
We would also like to thank our incredible sponsors of this year's clinic:
Grant Anesthesia Services Palestine Regional Medical Center
Grant Warnick Surgical Nurses
CRNA, CPP
Dermatology Associates of Tyler

Texas Tees East Texas Medical Center
Mineola Tyler, for the use of the tent

We are looking at holding another clinic in May. Who knows maybe this time we'll be able to build a snow team!
Great day everyone! Thanks to our volunteers. Pictures are in the album, thanks to our "official team photographers" - Daniel Armstrong and Donna Duncan.

Texas Showtime spends weekend in Coppell
 |
|
| These plays with a lot of heart are awesome - but let's call the ball next time!
|
|
The Texas Showtime Family spent an awesome weekend in Coppell in March. We were fortunate enough to watch some incredible softball and we enjoyed some great company. A special thanks to all of our extended family that came out for some of the day on Saturday and Sunday! And another big thank you to our friends tha Coppell Thunder for running such a great tournament!
The girls played great all weekend and in the end made it to the championship game with the 94 AXE. This championship game was one for the books! It had everything, great pitching, incredible defense and some really awesome hits from both teams. At the end of our time limit we were all tied up and had to go to ITB. In the end we fell short of the victory by one run! But 2nd place isn't bad for a first year team! We couldn't be more proud of you girls!!!!!!!
Pictures of the weekend are in the albums - take a look!

Texas Showtime plays in first tournament of the Spring 2007 Season
The Texas Showtime family traveled to Texarkana the weekend of March 17th and 18th to play in their first tournament of the Spring 2007 Season. It was a great weekend! We placed 5th out of 14. And we were the only first year team to make it back to play on Sunday. We reached our goal of playing on Sunday and now we are setting bigger and better goals for ourselves!
It was Hannah and Courtney (AKA Shark Bait and Big C)and their families first big taste of travel select softball. AND THEY BOTH DID GREAT! It was fun to get to spend some time with our new family members and we all look forward to getting to know them better.
It was also one of our new family members' birthdays and OF COURSE we celebrated SHOWTIME STYLE at the Texas Roadhouse. Those girls will never be the same! Happy Birthday Ronnie!
I will have more information on the tournament and more pics later. Right now there are some pictures in the Album labeled Texarkana Tournament - CHECK IT OUT!

Texas Showtime plays in first 12 and under tournament
 |
|
|
 |
The Texas Showtime family traveled to Fort Worth the weekend of September 16th and 17th to play in our very first 12 and under tournament. With the addition of our new players and the fact that we are learning some new things, we were all nervous and excited to play! We started the day off with a bang beating the BANDITS in our first pool game 10 - 0. I must say that the girls that have been moved the left - stepped up with confidence and showed us all what they could do! We met the TEXAS SPIRIT in our second pool game and was able to win that one 8 - 2. We met the BANDITS again in our first pool game and they were ready for our short game this time. We won that one 5 to 1. Our second bracket game was against a very tough TEXAS RIP team. After a defensive battle of 0 to 0 almost the entire game we weren't able to pull out of this one and lost 1 to 2. Our 3rd bracket game was against another very tough team "FULL COUNT". The girls really showed what they were made of by never giving up and coming through after time had run out with some much needed hits to win 2 to 1. Our 4th bracket game matched us against the LADY SHARKS. And once again, coming through in the end , and giving parents almost heartattacks - we won 6 to 4. In our final bracket game we played the 93 TEXAS LIGHTNING. After a long weekend and battling the rain all day on Sunday we just couldn't pull this one out and lost 8 to 0.
The most amazing thing about the weekend was watching the girls play together as a team. Usually when you make roster changes and move girls to the "other" side of the plate, it takes a while to get settled in and work like it's supposed to. There were numerous times this weekend that the girls showed tremendous team work. This team is very exciting to watch and we thank you for another great weekend of softball.
Camp Showtime was great too. After overcoming the burn ban and the rain - we still proved that the best place for us to be is all together, somewhere, cheering on our favorite team.
WHAT TIME IS IT???????????
Showtime
Pictures of the weekend in Fort Worth are in the albums.
Specifics on the tournament:
We had 123 at bats - LOTS OF GOOD EXPERIENCE
We only had 18 strike outs while our opponents had 31
We had 56 runners on base
We scored 32 runs while only giving up 18
Our 5th place finish might not seem like much of a success. But when you consider what Texas Showtime is building - you'll understand the incredible success of the weekend.
Once again girls and families - YOU ARE AWESOME!
