Texas Magic: Welcome

Texas Magic Baseball provides an opportunity for High School Ball Players to step up their playing skills by providing better and more frequent competition. Texas Magic also helps provide a foundation for teamwork among players, parents and other family members. Our goal is to transition players from High School to College through work ethic  and  respect for the game.

The Texas Magic is publicly supported through Northeast Area Select Baseball Association,  an organization exempt from federal income tax as determined by the Internal Revenue Service under section 501 (a) and 501 (c)(3). As such, sponsors and donors to our teams may deduct allcontributions as provided in section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Texas Magic 18U & 16U teams will hold tryouts on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 9:30 am at North Shore High School



The Texas Magic are  holding  Tryouts for the Summer 18U & 16U teams on Saturday,  April 26, 2014 at 9:30 am Registration, 10 am start time, located at North Shore High School.  Please bring all equipment and gear. If you cannot attend, please send me an email or text to schedule a tryout.  Tryout fee is $10.

Alan Moye
We would like to welcome Alan Moye to the Texas Magic Coaching Staff!





Alan Moye just completed his first season as the Porter High head coach, and his second season with the Porter program. Beginning this year, he will begin his first season as the assistant head coach at North Shore High School. Alan is a former high school All-State, ABCA All-Region, ABCA All-American, and USA Today All-American baseball player at Pine Tree High School in Longview, TX.

  After being selected in the 3rd round of the 2001 Major League Baseball draft out of high school by the Cincinnati Reds, Alan enjoyed 7 seasons of playing professional baseball.  His playing career, as an outfielder, included various stops with the Reds’ organization, the Kansas City Royals organization, and the independent Ft. Worth Cats.  In 2001, Alan was rated as a top prospect in the Cincinnati Reds organization.  While with the reds, he was recognize at a 2001 Gulf Coast League post-season all-star and the 2002 Cincinnati Reds Instructional League most improved player.  In 2003, Alan was traded to the Kansas City Royals.  While with the Royals, Alan was a major league spring training invitee in 2004 and 2005.

Alan is a proud Baylor University alumnus where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2009 and a Master of Science in Sports Management in 2010.

Alums Mike Choice & Drake Britton make MLB Roster for 2014

Congratulations to Alums Mike Choice and Drake Britton on MLB roster for 2014.

Mike Choice - OF is currently on the Texas Rangers roster for 2014. Mike attended  Mansfield Timberview HS '07. Mike attended college at the University of Texas - Arlington, where he was an All Conference Player. Mike was drafted in 2010 in the first round by the Oakland A's.  Note: Mike use to come to Houston with CJ Ceasar ( I didn't forget about you).

Drake Britton - Pitcher is currently on the Boston Red Sox roster for 2014. Drake attend Tomball HS '07. Drake was drafted in the 23rd round by the Boston Red Sox.  Note: Drake nickname was the "Animal".

Taylor Taska is the 2014 Lone Star Conference Preseason Player of the Year

Texas Magic Alum Taylor Taska from Kingwood, Texas is an outstanding student athlete at Texas A&M Kingsville. He was named 2014 Lone Star Conference Preseason Player of the Year. Taylor was named 2013 Lone Star Conference Co-Player of the Year and 2013 Lone Star Conference Tournament MVP. See link below for Taylors Stats and Bio.

Congratulations to Alum Kyle Finnegan - Pitcher, drafted in 2013  by the Oakland A's in the sixth round. Kyle  played college ball for Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Kyle attended Kingwood HS were he was an outstanding player and student.

The Texas Magic 18u team win Mid October Classic in Baytown, Texas. Texas Magic 18U hammered the Columbia Angels 17U team 10 - 0 in a 4 inning blowout to capture the title.

Texas Magic Alums in MLB Draft 2012



Tx Magic Alums strike again with 2 pitchers going in the MLB Draft this week.

 - Daniel Stumpf, a left handed pitcher from Atascocita HS. Currently playing at San Jac College in Houston, Tx was taken in the 9th Round by the Kansas City Royals.

- Dustin Cook, a right handed pitcher from Huffman Hargrave HS '12 was taken in the 30th Round by the New York Mets.
