ARENA Leagues & Teams in TEXAS
In Texas most of us have heard of NFL, AFL, IFL, APFL and many more. I will try to see if I can explain the arena league the best way possible.
Arena teams have grown in the last 10 years. The rules are almost the same in each league. The major common thing is they play indoors and most players get paid. How much is determine by league or team.
I only know what happen to the owner of the San Antonio Steers and the Texas Riders.
The league NIFL had asked them to prepare to play in the second half of the season. But when the season got closer they had stop operation for the rest of the year. In May 12th the Steers agreed to play against the Beaumont Drillers and lost 63-0 after a hard fought battle. That team was made of mostly of the Riders players.
Then came along Chris Banner and Larry Hendrix. They started the league called Independend Indoor Football Alliance (IIFA). It all seem to good to be true when a month before the season kickoff, it encounter lots of problems.
League website it trouble and teams folding all around them. The indoor league is still around but the damage has been done and I do not recommend getting involved with these local leagues.
