Founder of the Prospect Park Termites
Passed away on April 4, 2010



Monday, July 12
Longtime Senior Coach, Jerry Livingston, Passes..
Gerald T. Livingston, 54, of Prospect Park, a longtime borough resident and football coach, died July 12 at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park.

Mr. Livingston was born in Key West, Fla. A 1974 graduate of Interboro High School in Prospect Park, he attended Bloomsburg University in Columbia County and Widener University in Chester. Mr. Livingston was a recruiter for Hi-Tek Professionals in Prospect Park.

A football coach for 30 years, he was head coach of the Prospect Park Termites’ 150-pound football team for the last 14 years. Mr. Livingston also coached wrestling at Interboro High School. He was the son of the late Edwin S. and Mary A. Hosey Livingston.

Survivors: Wife, Lisa M. Cheadle Livingston; sisters, Mary Anne Bowlett of Prospect Park, Jeanne Cathell of Richmond, Va., Judith A. Sharbaugh of Warrington, York County; brothers, Edwin S. Livingston of The Villages, Fla., Francis X. Livingston of Pittsburgh.

The Prospect Park Termites will be celebrating our 60th Anniversary this season with a parade on Saturday morning, September 13th.  The parade will start at the Interboro School District Administration building, pass by Mr. & Mrs. Witmer's home on Pennsylvania Ave and end at Witmer field.  There will be lots of food, games and memorabilia.  All are welcome to attend.

In recognition of our 60th Anniversary, the Prospect Park Termites will be wearing "throwback" uniforms for both home and away games this season.  Jersey's will be Royal Blue with Gold shoulders and Gold sewn-on numbers with a 60th Year patch.  Each player will have his/her name sewn on the back.  The cost of the jersey is $45. Please contact our General Manager, Linda Dempsey, at 610-532-4853 for ordering information. Parents and alumni can also purchase these jerseys at the same cost.

Former Termites Honored
Former Termite Sean Barr (Interboro High School) will be honored by the National Football Foundation as one of the Delaware Valley Area Scholar Athletes’ at the organization's banquet on May 10th. To go along with this academic achievement Sean along with another former Termite John Uhrin (Interboro High School) were named to the PIAA AAA 2005 All State football team. They join Sean Wasson (Interboro/University of Maine) 2004 Delaware County football player of the year as the second and third Termites to be honored as All State players in two years. Congratulations and continued success to all three.
