PASSING SHOT

Drill Description: one player begins on the deuce side at the net. The other player begins on the add side. The player at the net feeds a ball to the other person, which he returns back to the net man. The net man then volleys the ball cross-court. The player on the baseline then runs after the ball and hits down the line to the open court. The net man remains in place. The process is repeated one after another until the player is tired. After a minute-long break, the next part of the drill is started. This time the net man begins on the add side while the other person remains on the add side. The net man feeds the ball cross-court to the other person, which he returns cross-court. The net man then volleys the ball down the line. The player on the baseline then runs after the ball and hits it cross-court to the open court. Repeat this one after another until the player is exhausted, and then switch positions.

Once both players have gone it is time for the second half of the drill. This time the net man begins on the add side and the person on the baseline begins on the deuce side. The net man feeds a ball to the person on the baseline, which he returns back to the net man. The net man then hits the ball cross-court. The player on the baseline then runs after the ball and hits it down the line to the open court. Repeat until the baseline player is tired. After a minute-long break, the net man moves to the deuce side while the baseline player remains on the deuce side. The net player feeds a ball cross-court, which the baseline player returns to the net man. The net man then volleys the ball down the line. The player on the baseline then runs after the ball and hits it cross-court to the open court. Repeat this until the player is exhausted, and then switch positions.
