Doubles tie-breaks
|
My question is pretty straightforward but haven't found a straight answer yet.
Assume player A1 and A2 are playing B1 and B2 and have reached 6-6. Srve goes A1 B1, A2 B2. Player B1 served the last game (on deuce side).
Therefore, A2 serves 1 time from deuce side to B2. B2 serves 2 times 1st from ad side to A1, and 2nd to from deuce to A2. A1 serves 2 times starting from ad side to B1 etc..
My assumptions is that servers change sides for service, receivers don't change.
Am I right or wrong?

You are correct that the returner alway's returns on the same side. The server alway's stays in the same rotation but in a tie breaker it may change what side of the court they serve on. (east or west) The tie breaker should always be thought of as 1 GAME that everyone gets to serve in.
