1-20 pitches, no pitching rest days required before the player may pitch in a subsequent game.
21-35 pitches, one (1) pitching rest day required before the player may pitch in a subsequent game.
36-50 pitches, two (2) pitching rest days required before the player may pitch in a subsequent game.
51-65 pitches, three (3) pitching rest days required before the player may pitch in a subsequent game.
66 or more pitches, four (4) pitching rest days required before the player may pitch in a subsequent game.
Exception: If a pitcher reaches a day(s) of rest threshold while facing a batter, the pitcher may continue to pitch past the threshold without observing the additional day of rest until: (1) the batter reaches base; (2) the batter is retired; or (3) the third out is made to complete the half-inning provided the pitcher is removed before delivering a pitch to another batter. This exception is new for 2013.
Note: A pitcher may not pitch in more than one game in a day.
Pursuant to Rule VI (c), the maximum per day pitching rules remain the same this year as last year. The limits are as follows:
League Age 11 to 12 85 pitches per day
League Age 9 to 10 75 pitches per day
League Age 7 to 8 50 pitches per day
Exception: If a pitcher reaches the maximum per day limit while facing a batter, the pitcher may continue to pitch until any one of the following occur: (1) the batter reaches base; (2) the batter is retired; or (3) the third out is made to complete the half-inning.
Note: A player who delivers more than 41 pitches in a game cannot play the position of catcher for the remainder of that day.
Note: A player who catches in more than 3 innings of play cannot play the position of pitcher for the remainder of that day.
