Chilly Weather Doesn't Stop Early Bird Action
Like the tournament shirt says - "Never too early and never too cold to play baseball." The teams participating in the 3rd Annual USSSA Early Bird Classic took the motto to heart over the weekend and played some unbelievably solid games for this early in the season to determine top dogs in the 9s, 10s, 11s, 12s and 13s. Congrats to the winners and runners-up who tangled on Sunday afternoon to decide the crowns. The 9u division was settled on Saturday night as the Heartland Hustle outlasted the Paducah Storm 15-14. The 10u division was won by the Murray Bucs 4-0 over the Sikes Diamond Dawgs. The 11u crown goes to the G.C. Titans for their 9-6 win over the SEMO Blackhawks. The 12u title went to the Etown Thunder for their 5-2 win over Greenfield/Andrews Athletic. And, the 13u championship went to the Paris Panthers in a 10-5 win over the West KY Cyclones. Remember coaches, your roster must be posted to your USSSA page in order for your team to be entered in the tournament and for all tournament results to be posted at www.usssa.com. Again, thanks to all of the teams that played in the USSSA season opener in western Kentucky.
