Monday, April 4 Andrews Athletic Early Bird Winners
The Andrews Athletic Early Bird Classic got the local tournament season off to a flying start April 1-3 in Murray. A total of 33 teams in ages 8u thru 13u competed on a chilly Saturday and gorgeous Sunday. Local rains on Thursday and Friday forced out the field tarps and postponed Friday night play until Saturday. The tarps were removed early Saturday morning and pool play started at 9 a.m. and concluded after midnight in two divisions. The good news - all teams got in all of their scheduled games and everyone competed well. Congrats to all teams who participated. Thanks to Andrews Athletic, the new west Kentucky headquarters for baseball and softball team uniforms and gear. Again, congrats to all of the teams and the winners in each division. The Early Bird divisional championship scores are as follows: 8-under: So. IN Spikes 12, Marshall Co. Sluggers 7 9-under: Murray Bucs 12, Ohio Valley Raptors 0 10-under: Graves Co. Titans 6, Mt.
