Some years ago whilst in America on one of my many trips. A American friend of some years and myself were having a discussion about how some of our words and terms are so different. He said "we are divided by a common language." I thought for a moment "yes, but it`s our language." He to pondered for a moment. Then rubbed one of his many chins "yeah,but we made it better." I could labour this point but being a diplomatic British gentleman and of course avoiding a vast incoming mail bag. I chose to comment no further.
