Thanks to Pat Perez, and all the District 15 Safety Officers- we achived 100% compliance for the 10th straight year.
This helps our district in preventing injuries for our youngsters.
Awareness and prevention are the two ingrediants in getting that job done.

Texas District 15 Pitch Count Counters
These will be the procedures that will be used to count pitches during the District 15 Tournaments as well as the Sectional Tournaments. PITCH COUNT COUNTERS ALL DIVISIONS This will be the procedure that will be used to count pitches in The District 15 Tournaments as well as Sectional Tournaments. Managers from each participating team shall select a person to represent their team as the official counter. He/she could be an extra coach, parent, fan, ADA, or DA or anybody of their choosing as long as they stay outside the fenced in area. Both counters will sit next to each other in an area where they can view the game without interruptions. They will confer with each other at each half inning to make sure they are together on the count. They will have a copy of the pitch count rules, so they can refer to them if needed. Only the managers of each team can ask them questions about the pitch counts for either team. When the pitch count gets to 15 pitches before the allotted number for that particular division, the managers and the umpires will be alerted of the pitch count. This shall allow proper warm up time for the substitute pitcher. When the pitch count has been attained by the pitcher, the managers and umpires will be told again, and the pitcher will be removed. If the pitch count is reached in the middle of the count to a batter, then the pitcher will be allowed to finish pitching to that batter until the batter has reached base or been put out. The pitch counters will then tell the scorekeepers, so they can record it in their score book. Pitch counters shall sign the score book at the end of the game attesting to their count for each pitcher. These procedures shall be followed for every pitcher who enters the game. In the event of conflict, Field Director will have final authority.
