Trophy Club - Roanoke Football Association: TCRFA News: 2008 Rule and By-Law Changes

Here are the new rule and by-law changes for the North Central Texas Football League (NCT) for Fall 2008. These are significant changes from previous years but changes we believe will greatly benefit the children who participate in TCR Football.

1. The North Central Texas Football League (NCT) has voted to no longer combine grade levels but to move the entire association to a Grade Pure format. This means that this coming Fall, TCR Football will have the following 6 separate football divisions:

2. Another major change is that coaches may only protect or freeze 6 players prior to entering the draft. These players are not required to have dad's who are planning on being assistant coaches and they do not have to be returnees from the previous year. All other players will be entered into the draft.

3. Practices will begin the last Monday in July, whatever date that falls on. This year will be Monday July 28th.

4. All coaches will be issued a picture ID to wear around their neck while they are coaching a game. There will be field passes controlled by the town commissioner, that must be worn if anyone is on the field. We are doing this to maintain control and protect the kids. The 6 Coach rule on the sideline is going to be strictly enforced, if a coach is missing he/she will not be able to be replaced with another parent or friend. Only the coaches that are issued the ID badges will be allowed to coach on game days.

Coaching applications will soon be posted on our web site www.tcrfootball.com. We are requiring that any parent interested in being considered for a head coaching position fill out and submit an application by April 15th.
