This section of the website is designed to track the growth of NISD school district. Population growth changes impact the inter-workings of TCRYBA. The population growth projections are used for planning equipment purchases, field capacity and future planning with the cities.

The new Trophy Club High School Campus located across the street from Medlin Middle School will include baseball fields similar to the Texan Stadium fields.

The 2006 group of 6th grade players will be the initial freshman to start the Trophy Club high school.

Trophy Club / Roanoke Baseball will align with the high school athletic program.

In 2005, Northwest school district voters passed a record $224.5 million bond package Saturday that includes a second high school in Trophy Club. About 70 percent of voters supported the package, which called for five new schools, land purchases for 14 future schools, classroom additions at five schools and technology upgrades.

"This shows support for the momentum we have created. The standards have been raised, not only on the academics, but in high-quality facilities," said Karen Rue, who became Northwest's superintendent in July.

The election drew 2,320 people to the polls, 9.6 percent of the district's estimated 24,086 registered voters.

The vote allows district administrators to go forward with plans to build Kay Granger Elementary School in north Fort Worth, which is scheduled to open in 2007.

Two more elementary schools are planned for 2008, and a middle school and the planned $96.4 million high school are scheduled to open in 2009. The high school will sit on 100 acres at Parkview Drive and Marshall Creek Road.

The following is the recommendation of the Long-Range Planning Committee, the Northwest ISD Board of Trustees called a $224.5 million bond election for October 1, 2005 at the board meeting on Monday. As developed by the committee, this bond is intended to address student growth, which is projected to increase by a moderate 4,600 students over the next three years.
The capital improvement projects include five new schools and additions to five existing schools. The specific bond projects follow:
•       School site purchases (11 elementary school sites, 2 middle school sites, and 1 high school site)
•       Three new elementary schools
•       One new middle school
•       One new high school
•       Elementary school classroom additions at Prairie View Elementary and Seven Hills Elementary
•       Middle School Additions at Medlin Middle School (classroom addition), Chisholm Trail Middle School (classroom addition), and Gene Pike Middle School (physical education addition)
•       Roof replacement of the oldest portions of Gene Pike Middle School and Northwest High School
•       HVAC replacement of the oldest portions of Gene Pike Middle School and the Vernon Solomon Performing Arts Center
•       Technology to accommodate growth and upgrades
Northwest ISD’s current tax rate is $1.81930—$1.50 Maintenance and Operation (M&O) and $0.3193 Interest and Sinking (I&S). If voters approve the $224.5 million bond, the bonds will be sold as demographics warrant over the course of three years with a maximum I&S tax rate of $0.3350. The I&S tax rate of $0.3350 is the same maximum rate guaranteed in the 2001 bond. The I&S rate dropped in 2004-2005 school year to $0.3193 from $0.3350 because of growth in the tax base.
The Northwest ISD Long-Range Planning Committee requested the NISD Board of Trustees to call a bond election for October 1, 2005, at the board meeting on June 27. The committee initially presented their findings and proposal to the board on May 23 after several months of studying the district’s projected growth and facility needs.
Early voting for the Northwest ISD bond election would begin on September 14 and end on September 27, with election day being October 1.

The Trophy Club High School will be one of the most expensive high schools built with a total price tage of more than $96mil ($21 higher than most high schools currently being built).
