Trophy Club/Roanoke Baseball

As the summer gets started, it's time to start thinking about "fall" baseball. Fall 2008 Signups are just around the corner.

FALL BASEBALL Registrations - dates and locations contingent upon availability of room and field space. Please continue to check the website for the most recent timelines and updates.

Signups for 2008 Fall Baseball and Tball are the July 26 and August 3, 12-4pm Sat at Roanoke Rec Center.

Online registration will open 7/19 for Fall Baseball :

League divisions are determined by age as of May 1st, 2009. If you have not brought a copy of your player's birth certificate, or are not sure if you have, please do so at this registration. Late registrations, after Aug 23rd, will go on a waiting list.

4-6 year olds (T-ball) Must be 4 (by Oct 31, 2008)

Children born between 10/31/03-11/1/04 - Beginner Tball - generally for the 4's and early 5's

Children born between 10/31/02-9/30/03 - Advanced Tball - generally for the older 5's and early 6's

6-8 year olds (Coach pitch)

Children born between 5/1/00-4/30/02

9-14 year olds (kid pitch)

U10 born between 5/1/98-4/30/00

U12 born between 5/1/96-4/30/98

U14 born between 5/1/94-4/30/96

This league is open to all players zoned to feed the future Byron Nelson High School as well as neighboring communities.

We get asked the question about older Tballers playing Coach Pitch. If your child will turn 6 by Sept, 200
8 they should play coach pitch unless the parents really do not think the child is ready. No player that exceeds the maximum age for a league can play "down" into a lesser league (safety, interleague rules, etc).

The season will start in September and go until the late October. Games will be on Saturdays and possibly a couple Friday nights when Varsity football is out of town. Most games are played in Trophy Club/Roanoke for leagues under 12yrs old. Older kids (13 and above) will have most of their games in Trophy Club and a few games throughout the Northwest Area (Justin, Argyle, Haslet, Grapevine, etc). Practice will begin in late August.

The practice schedule will be worked out with the coaches and the commissioners. Game schedules will not be available before late August. Coaches will contact players no later than August 28th.

T-Ball teams will be formed by requests first, then by schools. Keep in mind that all requests are not guaranteed, as there must be a balance on each team of experience and age. Every attempt will be made, but nothing is promised.

The U14 age group typically only fields one team in the fall. As such, we will take the first 12 signups. Any additional players that signup will go on a waiting list to see if we have enough players to form 2 teams. We need coaches too. Coach Pitch may or may not split into U7 and U8 in the fall.

Interested AA players should signup during the first weekend since the player evaluations will be Aug 10th . Aug 17th.

Registration fees include a full baseball uniform (less a glove and shoes). Registration also covers the cost of equipment bags, baseballs, umpires, and fields. Families with more than 1 player can take $10 off their total registration.

Registration fees:

T-ball: $70

Coach pitch: $80

Kid Pitch: $90

All players in Coach Pitch on up will be assigned to a team via draft. There will be a coach look. Mark your calendar for August 24, at Independence Park baseball fields on the appropriate fields for each age. If your child does not attend the Coach’s Looks, their name will be placed into a hat for the draft to be placed on a team.

An effort is being made to coordinate schedules with the Soccer association to avoid game conflicts (not practice conflicts). No guarantees. Please signup to coach when you register your child at registration.

The league is offering special sponsorships that allow businesses to have their company name placed on the backs of one team. Sponsorships help offset the huge cost of baseball equipment.
