Want to play but don't know anything about hockey? No problem! You just need an interest in a fun sport that keeps you in great shape -- and teaches teamwork, discipline, and creative thinking. You must be in grades 8 - 12 and meet the academic requirements for sports participation (2.0 grade point average for Alexandria students). 8th graders can practice with their team and play in non-league games, but aren't eligible to play in league games.

What's the season like? The heart of the hockey season is mid-November to late March, and teams typically play 10 to 20 games. Practices last 75 to 90 minutes. Most of our practices are Thursdays at 4pm or Friday at 8:45pm at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Ballston and Wednesdays at 7:30pm at the Tucker Road Ice Rink in Fort Washington, MD. Boys typically play league games on Friday nights or weekends.

Titans Ice Hockey is a club sport and is not funded by the Alexandria City Public Schools. Instead, we are supported by player fees and funds raised by the Titans Ice Hockey Boosters, an independent volunteer group. The Boosters support players with financial needs. Players must join USA Hockey (for insurance) and are responsible for their own equipment (the club has some gear available).
