TC Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia is proud to have two ice hockey teams. The Titans Women -- the only girls high school hockey team in Northern Virginia -- are in their 6th season and play in the Maryland Scholastic Hockey League. The Titans Men, in their 9th season, play in the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League.

Want to play but don't know anything about hockey? No problem! You just need an interest in a fun sport that keeps you in great shape -- and teaches teamwork, discipline, and creative thinking. And you must be in grades 8 -12, enrolled in the Alexandria City Public Schools, and meet the academic requirements for sports participation (2.0 grade point average). 8th graders can practice with their team and play in non-league games, but aren't eligible to play in league games.

What's the season like? The heart of the hockey season is mid-November to mid-February, and teams typically play 10 to 20 games. Practices last 75 to 90 minutes. Most of our practices are at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Ballston and the Tucker Road Ice Rink in Fort Washington, MD. We also have a few practices at the Wells Ice Rink in College Park, MD.

Titans Ice Hockey is a club sport and is not funded by the Alexandria City Public Schools. Instead, we are supported by player fees and funds raised by the Titans Ice Hockey Boosters, an independent volunteer group. The Boosters provide uniforms and support players with financial needs. Players must join USA Hockey (for insurance)and are responsible for their own equipment (the club has some gear available).
