The North Stars Girls Travel Team is provided with the following, Helmets, Pants, Gloves, 2 Game Jerseys, Game socks, Practice socks, Practice Jersey and a North Stars Equipment Bag.
Frequently asked questions.
When does the season start? We will start in Sept.
How much is it going to cost ? Estimated $1950.00 per player.
Where will we play? AAA Tournaments and TIER 1 Exhibitions: Chicago, Detroit, Columbus, Madison, Canada and Traverse City.
What is the selection process? Some players will be selected on Sunday the 26th, the final selection will be July 18th.
What if I live in Canada? We can roster two Canadian players.
What if I dont make the AAA can I still play AA? The AA selection will be done using the same process with final selections on July 18th.
When will we practice? We will practice twice a week, two 1.5 hours on ice and 1 hour of dry land every Tuesday and Thursday.
How many games will we play? 74, not counting National Bound States.
How do I get my daughter to the games? The North Stars Girls AAA team has a 15 passenger van and a trailer for gear that we take to every event. Players always have a ride if the parents can't attend.
What if I live out of the area? We have host families set up for the girls from outside the Traverse City Area. They will attend Traverse City Central, Traverse City West High School or Northern Michigan College. Cost of hosting is $225.00 a month paid by the players family.
What if I would like to come and watch my daughter play, where can we stay if she is a with a host family? We have a motel set up with a Traverse City North Star rate.
What programs are available for college? NMC has 10 Colleges that offer Bachelor programs. Visit www.nmc.edu
What League will we play in? We will be an independent team as far as a league goes, pending our application to Tier 1 (MWEHL). We have also applied to be an At Large team, we will still be a member of the Grand Traverse Hockey Association.
