Consideration Cuts mean if a swimmer performs faster than this time at tryouts in July, he/she will be considered for the Varsity team, but it will be the coach's determination. If the swimmer performs slower than consideration cut, he/she is placed on the JV team.

Parents: Triathlon Forms are here! The triathlon is a mini-triathlon that is fun and fairly easy to complete. Participation in the triathlon is mandatory for all Varsity members, except seniors. Varsity seniors are encouraged to participate. Coach Apple and Coach Burgess will talk to the JV swimmers and the divers about their participation requirements. We are collecting entries differently this year. ALL Entry and Liability Forms and Dues are due to Coach Barker by Friday, April 22nd.

Taylor’s Cooper Robinson, the nation’s seventh-ranked 100-yard backstroker as a junior last year, committed to Texas Christian University this week. He is coached by Rick Barker at Taylor, and by Sharon Power from Power Aquatics in Katy.The 6-foot-4 backstroker is a sixth-time All-America selection and in 2009, he placed seventh in the 100-backstroke at the Junior Short Course Nationals to go along with an eighth-place finish in the 200-back. He holds times of 49.00 in the 100-back, 1:48.05 in the 200-back and 23.45 in the 50-back.On Nov. 21, Robinson finished first in the TISCA Championships in the 100-yard backstroke, winning with a time of 50.68 seconds.Robinson is also the school-record holder in the 100-back. While competing for Power Aquatics at the club level, Robinson claimed the club records in the 50- and 200-back. He is also the Katy Aquatics record holder in the 50-, 100- and 200-back. He won his region in the 100-back in 2009 and 2010 and went on to finish second in the 100-back at the UIL 5A State Meet.
Robinson is the son of Chris and Rhonda Robinson and plans on pursuing a degree in kinesiology
