About Taylor Lacrosse

Taylor Lacrosse Club, established in 2003, is the oldest high school lacrosse club in the Katy, Texas area.

Taylor Lacrosse is a competitive, amateur athletic team for high school boys. We are a non-profit, charitable organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service under the tax exempt section 501(c)(3). Our focus is to promote the sport of Lacrosse and introduce it to students attending high school in the Katy Independent School District. Taylor Lacrosse is a member of the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL), South District. Our Varsity team is eligible to qualify for the Texas State Championship!

The sport of lacrosse is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse – the big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men's lacrosse.

Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball. Lacrosse is known as “The Fastest Game on Foot!”
Lacrosse is a spring sport. The season runs from January through early May. Games typically begin mid-February and run through mid-April; followed by District playoffs and the State Championship in early May. We offer early practices and preparation during the fall. We start with less frequent practices in the fall and move toward more frequent practices during Winter/Spring.

We recognize many boys participate in fall sports and may have conflicts with some pre-season practices and tournaments. Please don't let that dissuade you from considering lacrosse as your spring sport of choice. Although registration is usually completed by December, you can still join until January 1 – provided we have roster spots available.
