Taylor Lacrosse Club: Welcome
SUMMER LEAGUE:
Once again Taylor Lacrosse will host a summer league program. The program will begin June 10th and run through August 3rd. Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8pm out at the lacrosse fields at Firethorne. Cost is $125 per player. Its not mandatory that you attend all nights. We realize family vacations impact the summer. Just make as many as you can. The program is open to Players from 9th grade through College & Men's Club.
This is a great way for you to continue your lacrosse stick skills, learn from current HS and college players, and meet future teammates as well as players from competing high schools. This is also a excellent time to introduce lacrosse to any of your friends who maybe interested in the sport. Games are played as "Friendlies" with no knockdown hits allowed. So even the newest players can participate.
Players need to complete the registration form and Waiver. Located in "HANDOUTS". They can send forms and check to Taylor Lacrosse Club, 1803 Laguna Meadows Ln, Houston TX, 77094.

About Taylor Lacrosse
Taylor Lacrosse Club, established in 2003, is the oldest high school lacrosse club in the Katy, Texas area.
Taylor Lacrosse is a competitive, amateur athletic team for high school boys. We are a non-profit, charitable organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service under the tax exempt section 501(c)(3). Our focus is to promote the sport of Lacrosse and introduce it to students attending high school in the Katy Independent School District. Taylor Lacrosse is a member of the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL), South District. Our Varsity team is eligible to qualify for the Texas State Championship! Students from Cinco Ranch, Maydee Creek, Morton Ranch, Pope John and Faith West are welcome to join!
We recognize many boys participate in fall sports and may have conflicts with some pre-season practices and tournaments. Please don't let that dissuade you from considering lacrosse as your spring sport of choice. Although registration is usually completed by December, you can still join until January 15th – provided we have roster spots available.
Taylor Lacrosse is open to students from Cinco Ranch, Maydee Creek, Morton Ranch, Pope John and Faith West! Please call for details on eligibility and how to join.
Lacrosse 101
The sport of lacrosse is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse – the big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men's lacrosse.
Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball. Lacrosse is known as “The Fastest Game on Foot!” Lacrosse is a spring sport. The season runs from January through early May. Games typically begin mid-February and run through mid-April; followed by District playoffs and the State Championship in early May. We offer early practices and preparation during the fall. We start with less frequent practices in the fall and move toward more frequent practices during Winter/Spring.
