Profile:	2007...A solid contact hitter Shomo struck out only 6 times in 139 plate appearances while posting a .357 batting average with 28 RBI's. Matt played in all 40 games last season and had an on base percentage of .453. On the mound Shomo was a tough luck hurler with 33 K's in 35 innings and an impressive 1.96 ERA but it only resulted in a 1-3 record. Matt should be a big part of Viper success both offensively and defensively as well. 2008.....One of the most consistent hitters on the team Shomo finished the year batting .363 and was second on the team with 23 RBI's. A solid .405 on base percentage Matt scored 19 runs with 6 doubles and a triple. On the mound Shomo put together an outstanding season with a 5-0 record and a miniscule 1.67 era. The right hander struck out 44 batters in 43 innings and picked up two saves on the year. Shomo strung together 24 consecutive scoreless innings during the year including a five inning no hit performance in Mentor. Matt was a member of the THS JV golf squad and is a starting forward on the Blue Devils freshman basketball team.
