2007....Ryan played in 36 games last season batting .329 with a .424 on base percentage. Gaffney drove in 20 runs and scored 20 runs in 2007. On the mound Gaffney appeared in 18 games 17 in relief and had two saves. In 28 innings of work he had 20 strikeouts.
2008....Ryan returns for his third season as a Viper. The versatile performer has played all three outfield positions and is the innings leader out of the Viper bullpen. Gaffney appeared in eight games, all in relief. He had 14 strikeouts in 13 innings and has three career saves. At the plate the right hander batted .314 with 19 RBI's including eight doubles and a team high three triples. Ryan is the starting point guard for the freshman basketball team at Akron St. Vincent St. Mary.
