Our fall clinic will take place at the South Wall Little
League Minor League Baseball Field and will run for four consecutive Sundays beginning September 14, 2008 through October 5, 2008.

Welcome to the 2008 NJ State Little League Tournament - 10/11 Year Old Division

South Wall Little League will be hosting the 2008 NJ State Championship for the 10/11 year old division for Little League Baseball.

Congratulations to all the following Section Champions:

Tournament Banquet for all participating teams will be on Monday from 3-5PM.

2008 End Of Year Summary

Election of Officers

The election of Board Members for the 2008/2009 season occured on Monday, October 13th.  Results are posted on our 2009 Elected Officers page.  Congratulations to our new members of the boards.  A few positions are still available, if you would like to volunteer, please let us know.

The Fall Ball Commissioner would like to extend his appreciation to all families and volunteers that made it a great season.

All Stars

Congratulations to ALL South Wall All Star teams for representing us well. We are proud of you!!!

In Baseball the 11As are the District Sectional and State Champs!!!

The 11As won the District 11 Championship by beating North Wall two consecutive games, 24-5 and a thrilling 7 inning game 10-9. They moved on to the Section 3 Tournament in Sayreville. First game they lost to Toms River American 11-10 in 7 innings, second game the beat Nottingham 7-5, third game they took it from Toms River American 12-10 and the fourth game they beat Manalapan National 15-3. They 11As then needed to beat Woodbridge National on 2 consecutive days to win the Sectional Championship. The first Championship game they won over Woodbridge 11-3. They completed their quest for the Sectional crown with a 16-6 four inning victory. The 11As then moved on to the State Championship that was being held right here in South Wall.

In the State Tournament the 11As won all three games played to become the State Champs.  See the link to the left for more information. Great Job!!!

BASEBALL

Brian Cloney's Red Sox are the regular season Major Champion and were the runner-up in district TOC. Great job!!

Russ Jeffray's Marlins won the Major President's Cup over Gary Hotra's Rays.

Tony Tracy's Angels won the Minor President's Cup over the Joe Campi's Marlins. The Marlins were the regular season Minor Champion.

Softball

CAMP DESCRIPTION

ROOKIE LEAGUE (WEEK ONE) AGES 5 TO 9 YEARS OLD - This week will focus on the fundamental skills of the game. The daily schedule will include a balance of individual skills, drills and daily games. Campers will experience and enjoy a great week of baseball.

MINOR LEAGUE (WEEK TWO) AGES 9 TO 12 YEARS OLD - The Minor League week is designed for ages 9 to 12 and will play games on the 50/70 foot field. Please only 9 year olds who are ready for the bigger field. This week will focus on the fundamental skills of the game. The daily schedule will include a balance of individual skills, drills and daily games. Campers will experience and enjoy a great week of baseball.

BIG LEAGUE (WEEK THREE) AGES 13 TO 18 YEARS OLD - The Big League week is designed for high school players ages 13 to 18 who are serious about playing baseball at the collegiate level. This camp will allow players to develop and fine tune their skills with top college and high school coaches. The mornings will consist of fundamental work in all aspects of the game and the afternoons will primarily consist of games.

 

What to Bring? Players should bring baseball cleats, running shoes,and baseball glove. Players can bring a bat and catcher’s gear if they choose. Please make sure all personal equipment is clearly labeled. They should also bring lunch and a drink.

CAMP DIRECTOR HEAD COACH JOE LITTERIO

Joe Litterio, Wagner College’s all-time leader in wins, is in his 10th season at the helm of the Seahawks’ baseball program. In his first season at Wagner, he led the Seahawks to their only NEC Baseball championship and their first-ever NCAA Regional appearance.  In ten seasons at the helm he has taken the Wagner program to heights never before imagined. During his time the Seahawks have made six postseason appearances, winning it all in 2000 and finishing second in 2004, after only qualifying once previously in school history.

Camp Times

Ø    All full day camp sessions will take place from 9:00am - 2:30pm.  Full day camp price is only $250 per session.
Ø    Half day camps are available from 9:00am - 12:00pm for $150 per session.
Ø 8:30am - 12:30pm Camps are $175 per session. Sayre Woods South

CAMP DIRECTOR

Jim Rochford is in his 15th year coaching baseball at the high school level. Thepast 13 seasons have been at Wall High School.  Jim has helped coach teams to numerous championships including 6 Division, 2 County, 2 Shore Conference, 3 State Sectional and 1 Overall Group III State Championship.  Jim grew up playing for South Wall Little League and Wall HS. In high school, he earned All-County, All-Shore and All-State honors as a catcher. Jim is currently a special education teacher at Wall High School.

 ASST. DIRECTOR

Joe Martin is in his 12th year as the freshman baseball coach at Wall HS. During his highly successful tenure, Joe has coached 5 teams to the freshman Tournament Finals, winning 3 times. Joe played high school baseball at CBA and at the college level as a pitcher. Joe is a history teacher at Wall High School.

WHAT TO BRING

Each player should wear t-shirt, baseball pants and cleats. Players need a glove, bat (if they choose), and catchers should bring their equipment.  Players should also bring water.

 

LUNCH

Lunch will be available to purchase, as well as snacks and drinks. Players can also bring food and drink from home if they choose.
