Southwest Cougars are selling tickets on a trip for two to Montreal March 27, 2010. Watch the Montreal Canadiens play the New Jersey Devils. Trip includes two tickets to see the game, airfare from Winnipeg, hotel accomodations and $500.00 mad money. Tickets are $10.00 each or 3 for $20.00.   PLAYERS OF THE WEEK   
CHICKEN CHEF - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

     The Manitoba AAA Midget League is pleased to announce that Bryn Chyzyk of the Southwest Cougars, is this weeks recipient of the Chicken Chef Offensive Player of the Week in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

     Bryn became the Cougar point leader in 1 game over the past week.  Chyzyk had a 5 point game (1G and 4A) and was also plus 4, in the Cougars 6 - 0  win over Eastman on Friday.  Chyzyk also added a goal and was plus 1 vs Trashers on Saturday.  Chyzyk currently leads the team in points with 23 and in Plus minus as a plus 18.  Bryn is a 17 year old Rookie from Virden

Super 8 Motel - Defensive Player of the Month
 
     Brian Archibald of the Southwest Cougars is this weeks Super 8 Motel Player of the Month.
 

     Brian started and played in 5 of the 9 game the Cougars played over the month.  He recorded wins in each of his 5 starts, with wins coming over Brandon, Pembina Valley, Norman and 2 vs. Thrashers.  

 

Through these 5 starts Archibald allowed only 7 goals against for a 1.40 GAA going along with a 93.72 save percentage.  Brian is a 15 year old rookie goaltender from Killarney.
