*****Please find below only a few of the individuals who have helped make up the Hot Peppers for the past 34 years. We are forever interested in updating our list with new information or adding names we have forgotten-there have been so many throughout the years. Please e-mail us if you are someone we forgot, or know someone we may have forgotten. As you read their names remember how each was important to the sport longevity of women's softball-they are indeed each a part of history and we are proud of each of them. A work in progress.

1992 Women's ASA National Champions

Tisha Roberts (Pitcher) First String All American
Buena High School graduate. Attended 7 ASA Nationals. Pitcher for the Hot Peppers 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under 18 and under and on the women's Hot Peppers. She was on the national champion team of 1992. She was a three time First string All American ASA Pitcher. She went to Eastern Arizona on scholarship and Connors State College in Oklahoma. Tisha on the original Peppers as the bat girl before playing on the first 12 and under team. She was on the first 12 and under Nationals held in Kansas in 1982. Her first introduction to the team was at the age of 1 year. Tisha is the daughter of Coaches Bill and Sandy She also returned her softball teachings by working as JV coach at Buena for two years. Tisha has three sons-Keelund 14 Chandler 14 nd Billy 13 . She was married to Alan Oldham and she was the daughter of Coaches Bill and Sandy Roberts****
Tisha passed away on October 10, 2009 suddenly.  She is missed every day by her loved ones.

Trisha Magargee (Catcher)(First String All American)
Buena graduate. Received a softball scholarship to Central Arizona College and then to the University of Kentucky. Member of the 92 ASA women's National Championship team and twice named First string All American catcher. She began play with the Pepperettes for two years before moving to the Hot Peppers women's team in AA open for their trip to Canada. Trish returned to play on the women's team for 5 more trips to Nationals-playing with the team 8 years. ****

Paige Losey (Pitcher)(Second String All American)
Graduate of Canyon Del Oro High School in Tucson. Pitched on scholarship at the University of Nebraska. She was a member of the 92 National Champion Hot Peppers and named to the 2d team All Americans. Paige played with the Peppers women's team for two years in 1992 and 1993.

Robbie Edwards (Third Base)(Second String All American)
Bert was a lieutenant in the army at Fort Huachuca and played on the Hot Peppers team in 1992 and 1993. She was named to the 2d team All American Third base in 1992. She is living and working in San Francisco with her husband. She is a member of the Army Reserves. *

Brenda Haynes (Outfield)(Third String All American)
Member of the Hot Peppers 1992 National Champion team. She was named to the 3d team All American Outfielders. She was the basketball coach at Buena for two years. She played with the Peppers for 4 years.Brenda lives and works in Sierra Vista with her husband. *

Jennie Caporale (First base)(Third String All American)
She graduated from high school in Tucson. She attended UCLA on a softball scholarship. She played with the Peppers for two years on the women's team. She was a member of the National Champion team in 1992 an was named to the 3d string All American team at First Base. She lives and works in Tucson when last heard from. *

Sandy Roberts (Outfield/1st Base)(Manager/Assistant Coach)
Graduated Buena High School in 1964. Attended ASU majoring in History. The last remaining member of the Original Hot Pepper's team. Player until 1993, attended 5 ASA Nationals, member of the 1992 National championship team. Assistant Varsity Coach at Buena High School for 10 years (5 as a volunteer). Sandy is an author of her book "Life's Highways". She was an ASA District Commissioner for 8 years. She lives in Sierra Vista and continues to help coach the 'new' Hot Peppers players with husband Head Coach Bill-2006 will be their 34th year coaching the Peppers and it will be Bill and Sandy's 38th wedding anniversary in 2007. They had ne daughter Tisha and three grandsons-Keelund, Chandler and Billy, and of course Sandy's mom Micky-who is one of the Peppers biggest fans. *
Their daughter Tisha -the light of her life recently passed away on Oct 10, 2009

 


Sarah Fernandez-went to high school in Tucson but played with the women's team in 1992-93. Sarah was the shortstop for the Peppers when they won the Nationals in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Pima College and recently returned from Iraq, where she served in the army for two years. Sarah now lives in Florida with her son Micah.

Jolynda Thompson-attended Buena high school and was a pitcher on the Varsity team.
In her junior year, she was a member of the Peppers National Champion team when she traveled to Memphis Tennessee with the women's team. Jolynda moved to New Mexico.

Noel Geddes-was a member of the US Army and played on the all army slow pitch team in 1992 and 93. She was a member of the Hot Peppers in the summers and was on the National Champion team in women's softball in 1992. She was sent to Iraq and later was employed in govt contractor's office at Fort Huachuca.

Dee Foster-was a member of the 1992 ASA Women's National Champions. Dee played the position of second base and she was in volved in coaching youth softball for many years both on a travel team and in ASA ponytail play in Sierra Vista.

Shuryl Magargee (Outfielder)Buena graduate. Attended Northern Arizona University on a basketball scholarhip. Was JV coach at Buena briefly and graduated from NAU with a degree in teaching. She was the head softball and basketball coach at St. John's High School in Arizona. Shuryl is now the Buena 5A JV A Coach in Sierra Vista-she has returned to her alma mater.  Played for two years with the Pepperettes and for 5 years with the Hot Peppers women's team and participated in 4 of their trips to Nationals.

These alumni players were on the 2001 Triple Crown Hall of Fame National Champion team.

Patty Jo Egan graduated from Buena in 2004 and was a member of Varsity at Buena High School. Patty helped lead her Hot Pepper 16 and under team to the TCS Western National Championship in 2001 and led her team to finish 2d in the ASA B Nationals in 2002. She returned to play with the Peppers in 2004 and again led her team in the 18 and under A division of play in winning 4 out of 7 tourneys including the TCS Western National All American Championship in 2004.Patty was recognized by her team as Best All Around Player-Defense and Offense, and High Team Batting Average-.492. Patty is a pitcher/first baseman and third baseman. Patty is attending Binghamton University on a softball scholarship in August 2004 looking to major in sports psycology. She will not be playing with the Peppers in 2005 due to age ineligibility but will return to help our as part of the coaching advisors. Patty has returned to Binghamton University this 2005 fall on softball scholarship.

Christina Gomez graduated from Bisbee high school in 2003. Chris attends the University of Arizona and is studying to become a doctor.
Chris was a member of the Peppers from 2000 through 2004. She was a member of the Championship teams during 2001, 2002, and 2004. Chris played second base and also in the outfield. Chris will be ineligible in the 2005 season due to age. Once a Pepper always a Pepper.

Cara Redmond graduated from Buena High School in 2004 and was recognized with a softball scholarship at Angelo State University. Cara played out her last 18 and under eligible season with the Peppers in 2005 and has returned on softball scholarship to Angelo State University in Texas. Cara "Red" Redmond is a catcher and utility player. In 2004 she received the following awards from the Peppers-Team Inspiration Award(selected by her peer group), and Team Aggression Award(Never giving up). She helped take her team to the 2001 TCS Western National Championship, 2002 second place finish in the ASA B 16 and under Nationals, and the 2004 TCS Western All American Championship. Cara smacked in 5 over the fence home runs in the summer season of 2005. Always a welcome face at the Pepper field.

Kari Toresdahl graduated from Bisbee High School in 2004. She will attend Cochise Junior College. Kari was injured during the playing season 2003 and still suffers from the foot injury.

2004-Goodbye to everdedicated Christina Gomez. Chris was a member of the Peppers in 2000 with Clayton Lee and with Coaches Bill and Sandy Roberts in 2001 with the TCS National Championship, 2002 as a runnersup ASA National Champion, and in 2004 as the TCS Western Hall of Fame All American Championship. Chris gave the Peppers inspiration and steady play during the time she as a active player. Chris played second base and outfield for the Peppers. She returns to the University of Arizona where she continues in her sophomore year in her studies to become a doctor.

Sandy Meadows-played with the Hot Peppers in 16 and 18 and under divisions in 2001, 2002 and 2005. She was a member of the Hot Peppers when we won the TCS Western Nationals in 2001 and a member when we placed second in the ASA B Nationals in Midland, Texas. Sandy was the starting shortstop for the Peppers during this time. Her forte was her defensive skills at shortstop and her running speed as a hitter. She carried over a .450 in 2005 and is now attending Binghamton University in New York on a softball scholarship.

Jasmine Martan-played with the Hot Peppers in 16 and 18 and under divisions since 2001 with her farewell play in 2005 when she graduated from Buena High School. Jaz was a member of the Hot PEppers through two National Championships and runnersup ASA B Nationals in 16 and under. She played the position of first base/DP and also relief pitching. Jaz completed the 2005 season with a .500 BA and over a .950 FA. She has been the tallest Pepper to date-6'1" tall. Jaz is attending the college  in Phoenix studying medicine.

Michelle Anderson-Shelly-a member of the Hot Peppers team for 7 seasons.
Shelly first began play with the Peppers at the age of 11 and her last season of play included her senior season in high school. She was an outstanding catcher-much in the tradition of All American Catcher at the UofA-Mary Cassidy. Shelly was named to the Buena All District team for her junior and senior year-her high school. We look to see some outstanding accomplishments in Shelly's upcoming colege career. Shelly is currently playing at Eastern New Mexico State University on a softball scholarship where she is the starting catcher-but note that she is also carrying a 4.0 GPA.*

Gen Brown-a member of the Hot Peppers 2000, 2001 and 2002 teams. The 2001 and 2002 team won TCS Western Nationals. Gen graduated from Buena in 2005 and played softball on scholarship in Kansas at Garden City CC and played 2007 at Eastern Az

Dezeray Martinez 'Dezi-A member of the 2000, 2001 and 2002 Hot Peppers. She was a pitcher, and outfielder and began play at the age of 11 with the 14 and under team and continued play on the 16 and under team in 2001 and 2002 and was a member of the 2001 TCS Western National Hall of Fame National team as well as the 2002 ASA second place national 16 and under team. Dezi moved to Las Cruces and graduated high school there and is now back in Las Cruces has one child with one on the way.

Laura McMillan-A member of the 2000-2006 Hot Pepper team. She was the starting centerfielder in 2000 and in the championship play during 2001 and 2002 when the Peppers won the TCS Western Nationals and placed second in the ASA 16 and under nationals. Laura was a member of the Buena High school Varsity team and graduated Buena and attended Pima Community college.  She graduates in November into the Navy.  We wish her lots of love and safety there.

 

Megn Wilkerson-a member of the 2000-2004 Hot Pepper team. She played in the outfield and some at second base. Megan was on the TCS Western National Champion team 16 and under and also on the second place ASA 16 and under nationals. Megan moved to Vail and graduated high school there. She was highly active in Rodeo and is pursuing her career in college on scholarship.

Jen Sherry-a member of the 2000-2002 Hot Pepper team. She was the starting second baseman on the TCS Western National Champion team in 16 and under as well as on the ASA 16 and under second place Peppers. She was a member of Buena Varsity softball team for four years. She attended Allen Community College in Kansas for two years and is now attending Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Her dad Bob Sherry was the Assistant Coach of the Hot Peppers for two years.

All American/Hall of Famers/Special Achievements

Tisha Roberts (Pitcher/First Base)
Buena High School graduate. Attended 7 ASA Nationals. Pitcher for the Hot Peppers 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under 18 and under and on the women's Hot Peppers. Michele Hoffman- (Outfield) attended Midland College until she transferred to Angelo State University. She played softball there for three years and after graduating, she was one of the Assistant coaches. Michelle was the MVP of the 2004 NAtional Champion Angelo State University in the Division 2 Nationals of 2004. She is residing in Sierra Vista currently and is working for the fire dept. Michele will help out with the 2006 Peppers as a coaching assistant to help inspire and teach college play at the 18 and under level.

Grace Leteule (Shortstop)
Graduate (2002)of Buena High School. Grace began working with coaches Bill and Sandy while still in middle school when 12 and continued through sophomore year. Grace was also the state champion in her age group in handball for about three years prior to graduating high school. Grace played with the 16 and under Peppers (Coaches Bill and Sandy) She played with the team two seasons. Grace received a softball scholarship to Division I Michigan University.  She has since graduated from college and playing softball in Europe during the summer****

Mary Cassidy (Catcher)
Buena graduate. Attended University of Arizona for four years on a softball scholarship. She was a NCAA Div I All American catcher for 3 years. Mary began play with the Hot Peppers women's open AA team at 15 and played 9 years with the Peppers including playing in 1988, 1989, and 1990 with the team in Nationals. Mary got her degree originally in socialogy an then got her teaching certificate to later become athletic director of Palo verde High School. She currently resides in Tucson where she continues her work with the aged. **

Sandy Roberts (Outfield/1st Base)
Graduated Buena High School in 1964. Attended ASU majoring in History. The last remaining member of the Original Hot Pepper's team. Player until 1993, attended 5 ASA Nationals, member of the 1992 National championship team. Assistant Varsity Coach at Buena High School for 10 years (5 as a volunteer). Sandy is an author of her book "Life's Highways". She was an ASA District Commissioner for 8 years. She lives in Sierra Vista and continues to help softball players who are trying to improve skills, and be recognized with softball scholarships. They have continued their support of their players and have managed several of the Buena games in 2007. The Hot Peppers 2006 was the 'swan song' for the team in their 34th year as an organization. The couple will continue to help the young athletes, but will endeavor to spend some time with their daughter and grandsons. They celebrate their 38th wedding anniversary this May. They had  1 daughter Tisha and have 3randsons-Keelund, Chandler and Billy, and of course Sandy's mom Micky-who is one of the Peppers biggest fans. The coaches were recognized by the city of Sierra Vista for their dedication to youngsters not only in softball with the dedication of a city softball field named 'Roberts field' and the Hank Hauser museum made a place for an exhibition of the Hot Peppers to be displayed on a rotating basis showing the history of softball in women's sports in the area in 2005.  In 2007, Sandy and husband Bill wereinducted into the AZ ASA Softball Hall of Fame*

Nancy Brown (Pitcher-member of the Hot Peppers in the original team for over seven years. Nancy also was a third baseman. She played her high schoolsoftball over in Bisbee. Nancy was one of the core players on the Hot Peppers along with team mate Sandy Roberts and Sue McKinney (Townsend). Nancy was named several times as an all state pitcher. She also helped as an assistant coach on the Peppers and coached Ponytail softball for several years.

Diane Brown (Pitcher)
Buena graduate. Played with the Hot Peppers women's team at age of 13. She played with the Peppers for 8 years.Attended Pima on a softball scholarship and was part of their national championship team. Named to the NJCAA All American Div 1 pitcher and later received her BA at the University of Utah where she as a NCAA All American pitcher Division 1. Diane now lives in Phoenix with her family. ****

Cassie Morelock (Shortstop)
Tombstone High School graduate. Attended Central Arizona on a basketball scholarship. She graduated with her AA degree and went on to do track on a scholarship where she graduated from th University of Nebraska. She later attended the Olympic Trials to throw the javaline for the USA team before becoming injured. She is currently living and coaching in Tombstone. Cassie played with the Peppers two seasons in 18 and under.

Tammie Ragatz (Outfielder)
Graduate of Buena High School. Attended Pima Community College for two years (part of the team there that won the NJCAA Championship. She then attended the University of Iowa on a softball scholarship where she received her BA degree and is currently a Major in the US Army Reserves. Tammie recently served her country in the war with Iraq. She lives in Minnesota when home in the states. Tammie began play with the Hot Peppers AA open team when she was 15 and played for 7 years. *Member of National Champion NJCAA Pima CC

Beth Stewart is a grad at Pima Community College she has now graduated in nursing University of Arizona. She received a softball scholarship to attend Pima and play with the Aztecs. She was a member of Pima CC when they won Nationals. Beth graduated from Buena and played four years on Varsity. She was a member of the 16 and under and 18 and under Hot Peppers for 4 years. ***

Nikki Woo (Second Base)
Buena graduate. Softball scholarship to Arizona Western for two years then to the University of Oklahoma. Nikki was nominated by Coach Bill to play in Australia on a tour with Phoenix Westerners. She played with the Peppers AA Open team when only 14. Playing with the team until she was 20. A member of the Peppers team that toured in Canada for 14 days of tourney play. Last residence known was in Tucson.

Pam Donaldson-played in the 18 and under Hot Peppers at the young age of 14. Pam had several accomplishments as a high schol all conference player, Junior college all Conference player and was an NAIA scholarship recruit at Point Park College in Pittsburgh. She is the founder of a youth league called Eastern Girls Fastpitch Softball League and the tourney organization the Evolution Softball Organization. She has taught over 200 pitchers in Western Pennsylvania and is on the National Coaches Directory. She has had over a dozen girls she has taught in college on scholarships etc. She is the mother of a 13 year old daughter who is training to be a pitcher and at the tender age of 10 and under pitcher in the NSA World Series. Pam began a team that has now expanded into 4 teams.

Nicole Smith-Coley-a member of the Hot Peppers for three seasons from 2004-2006. Coley played the position of third base. She was named to the Buena High school All District team in 2005 and 2006. Coley known for her running speed and her hitting signed with Pima Community College-defending Div I NJCAA National Champs under the coaching of Stacy Iverson. Nicole sported a 4.0 GPA in her college grades and she is currently starting third base with 5 homeruns to her credit in March-2 were grand slams.*Coley is a senior at Angelo State University in Texas.

Jesi Lee-member of the Hot Peppers for three seasons from 2004-2006 both summer play and a season of fall ball. She was also a member of Buena Varsity 5A softball. Jesi is currently playing softball at Vernon Regional College where she carries on the duties of pitcher.

Regina Nucci-played 2004 and 2005 and 2006 with the Hot Peppers 18 and under softball team and was a member of the team in the 2004 winning of the TCS Western Nationals. She is an excellent outfielder and consistent hitter. Reggie will continue her college studies toward her degree here in Az-with only a couple credits to go. Regina has started a family and her beautiful daughter Tranae will be a year old this December 2009


Brianna Lee-Bri-a member of the Pepper softball family for many seasons playing for her dad's team. Both her sister's Ginger and Amber were past players with the Hot Peppers and also played on college scholarships. Bri attended Tombstone High School where she was recognized on All district as a high school player. Bri is currently at home attending Cochise Junior college after attending Coffeyville Junior College in Kansas and playing both volleyball and softball on scholarship.

Jessica Childers-Jess-was a member of the Tombstone Varsity softball team and managed 6 over the fence home runs in the high school season. Jess was the starting centerfielder. She played only one season with the Peppers and is currently playing on softball scholarship with Coffeyville Junior college in Kansas. Jess is a senior at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM.

Amanda Wilson-Amanda is a senior this year at Buena and played one summer with the Peppers summer team. A very dedicated and hardworking young player. Amanda plays outfield and second base and has signed to play at Mesa Community College . Amanda is currently attending college in Phoenix she is in her junior year.

Lisa Stensby-Lisa graduated from Buena and was the starting third baseman
She played for two years with the Peppers and was the starting second baseman. She also played the starting right fielder for Buena in her sophomore year. Lisa has signed to play softball with Pima Community College beginning with the fall of 2007.

Jenna Wright-Jenna will be a senior at Buena and is a starting member of the Buena 5A team. She is currently playing in the outfield to help fill the need for the team, but played two seasons at first base on the infield. She has played with the Peppers since the age of 13 on the 18 and under team. She has also worked under the pitching instruction with Coach Bill since 13 and prior to that was a member of the SV Diamonds and also was a pitcher there. She carries a 3.8 GPA . This is an excellent player who stands tall at 5'11 and handles the ball well on defense rarely missing the ball at first and carrying one of the top FA for the Peppers. She also can hold her own with the 'stick' bat. An excellent attitude and one player to consider for your college team.*
Jenna graduation from Easter Az in Cosmotology in 2008 has her working her in Sierra Vista as a successful beautician.


Lexi Straton-Lexi is a senior at Buena and is the starting catcher on the Buena 5A team. She can also play utility outfield and infield. She is quick and mobile as a catcher. She moves quickly to the ball and knows the play ahead of time. She is full of energy and strong. When hitting, she is capable of beating out a bunt or hitting the grand slam-whatever she needs to do, she will strive to do it for her team. She is a team leader and also a good communicator with the coach.
She carries a 4.0 GPA . She is eager to play college softball and is ready to handle college ball.*Lexi played at University of Iowa in 2008 but has returned to Sierra Vista where she plans to follow a career soon as a emergency rescue worker-during emergency rescues.

Michelle Trinidad-Shorty-played softball with her dad's team most of her softballcareer and played with the Hot Peppers in her senior year. She attended Flowing Wells High School and was an active member of the Theater there. She is attending NAU on a Music scholarship.


Kierstin Smuda-attended Tombstone High school and graduated in 2005. Age eligible, she returned to play summer softball with the Peppers in 2006. Kierstin currently attends Cochise college and plans to work for the sheriffs office after graduation.

Brittany Smith-a great addition to the 2006 Hot Peppers. Britt was a catcher and oufielder. She played out the season and had corrective shoulder surgery on her shoulder in the fall. She is a member of the Tombstone Varsity team and working her way into the starting lineup.
Brittany has been in Phoenix since her junior year in high school and is living and working there as of 2009.


Brittany Brown-a little spark plug and great energy player who is willing to work hard to help out her team mates. She plays second base. She is a senior at Buena Britany has moved out of the area and she has graduated with her dgree certificate in three venues. Congrats to her.


Robyn Sullivan-Robyn is a senior in high school in Tucson-she stands 6'3" -a pick up player for the TCS Hall of Fame tourney in Albuquerque. She went the year not playing high school ball and aided our team at the last minute. She did an outstanding job. Her positions of play are First Base, Catcher, Third base and relief pitcher.

Laura McMillan-played with the Hot Peppers in 14,16,and 18 and under divisions since 2000. Laura graduated in May 2005 from Buena High School. Laura attacted several softball scholarship offers in her senior year but has elected to attend college to follow her heart in the field of Theater Arts. She is now a Freshman at Pima Community College in Tucson. Laura played in the outfield for the Peppers and her specialty was her running speed especially when slap bunting. Laura received her degree from Pima Community College and recently graduated from her Naval Boot camp and is now a Naval seaman in 2009.

Kammie Hill-played with the Peppers for two great summers and a fall season. Kammie was President of her student council at Buena and a very busy volleyball enthusiast and player. she is attending NAU on her academic achievements but while with the Peppers, she played outfield, catcher for our team.

Dionne Russell (Outfielder)
Graduate of Buena High School. Receive a softball scholarship to Eastern Arizona College. Continued her education at the University of Phoenix where she received her degree in marketing. Dionne played both on the 18 and under Peppers and on the women's team-playing in Nationals in 1983 in Phoenix. Dionne was a member of the team at the age of 14 until she graduated from Buena. She is currently living and working in Tempe and is married.


Pam Ragatz (Third Base/OF)-graduated from Buena High School. Pam was a member of the Meadowlark Lemon Hot Peppers. She also played on scholarship at Pima Community College along with her sister Tammie and Diane when they won the first national NJCAA title for Pima in the junior college world series. Pam was a member of the Peppers since the age of 14 thru high school, into her college and once again in 1992 for part of the season. Pam's mom Liz actively supported her daughters. Pam now works for United Parcel and lives here in Sierra Vista with her good friend and companionj.

Jody Richards (Pitcher)
Buena High School Graduate. Attended Pacific Christian University in San Diego on a softball scholarship. Began to play with the 16 and under Peppers at 15. Graduated with her degree and comes home to visit her family here in Sierra Vista.

Amber Lee (Catcher)
Tombstone High School Graduate. Received a softball scholarship to Coffeeville Commmunity College in Kansas. Amber played for two sesons with the 18 and under Peppers. Received her AA degree then received softball scholarship at Bethel College in Tenness where she recently graduated from. Amber lives in Tombstone and works in Sierra Vista she is married to David.


Debbie Brown (First Base)
Graduate of Buena High School. Attended the University of Arizona, where she graduated with her BS in Nursing. Deb lives in Sierra Vista
and still works in Nursing. Played with the Peppers for three years on the women's team Hot Peppers.

Judy Fenske (Second Base)

Graduate of Buena High School.  Attended the University of Arizona on an academic scholarship.  Judy returned to Sierra Vista after earning her degree where she later married and began her family.  She is an active coach in the Sierra Vista Ponytail where she gets to work with her daughter Kristen.  Kristen is currently a member of the Buena Junior Varsity A team where she is a pitcher and a second baseman.  Kristen plays for another Pepper alumni player-Coach Shuryl Magargee.


Tamara Arnwine (First Base)
Buena High School Graduate. Softball scholarship to Central Arizona College and then Arizona State University where she received her masters in Computer Science. She played on the women's open AA Hot Pepper team from the age of 14 until her graduation from high school and into junior college. Tamara was a outstanding multi-talented player, as a left handed player, she played several positions not usually played by lefties including 3d, SS, OF, Catcher, Pitcher. Tamara is currently living in Baltimore, Maryland with her husband and three daughters. Tamara was awarded her masters degree in 2007.

Gail Kirby (Pitcher)
Graduate of Willcox High School. Attended Northern Arizona University on a softball scholarship. Lives and works in Willcox and is on the Highway Police Dept. Gail played with the women's Hot Peppers AA open team when she was 16 until she graduated from high school.

Meagan Bivens (Third Base)
(Buena graduate. Softball scholarship to Eastern Arizona College. She was an assistant coach at Buena for 2 years and now is with the Sierra Vista Police Dept. Megan was a member of the Peppers 16 and under team and also played on the Peppers women's team that played in Nationals in 1993 in Phoenix.

Sabrina Jessie (Pitcher)
Graduate of Sahuarita High School. She attended El Paso Community College on a softball scholarship. A member of the 18 and under Peppers for 2 seasons.

Jenny Gordon (First Base)
Buena graduate. Attended El Paso Community College on a softball scholarship and later attended San Angelo College in Texas. Gen is working her in Sierra Vista and recently got married. A member of the 16 and under Peppers for 2 years.

Michelle Nieuwenhuis (Shortstop)
Graduate of Tombstone High School. Received a softball scholarship to Arizona Western where she received her AA degree. Continued for two more years at Western New Mexico University where she received her BA degree. Currently employed as a police security officer for Pima College and is now pursuing her masters degree. Michelle played for the Peppers 2 years with the 16 and under and then 3 years with the 18 and under team.

Linda Brenner (Outfielder)
Buena High Graduate. Attended Hill Community College in Texas on a softball scholarship and received her AA degree and went on to Women's University in Texas on softball scholarship. Played with the Peppers 18 and under team for 2 years before attending college. Linda now lives near Dallas with her boyfriend of several years. She has her degree in Computer Sciences and is working toward her masters.

Diane Valencia (Second Base)
Graduate of Bisbee High School
Played softball on scholarship at Pima College and last known to reside in Tucson. A member of the Hot PEppers women's team for two years at the age of 16.

Michelle Robinson (Second Base)
Graduate of Buena High School. Attended Vernon Regional College on a softball scholarship. Michelle is back living and working in Sierra Vista. A member of the Hot Peppers 18 and under team for two years. Michele currently lives in Sierra Vista and received her Associates degree several years ago

Jessica Russell (Pitcher)
Graduate of Buena High School. Softball scholarship to Eastern Oklahoma and Carl Albert JC. Returned to Tucson and continued attending Pima to get her certificate in Physical Therapy. She lives in Sierra Vista with her little girl. Jess began with the Peppers 18 and under team before moving to play on the women's team to play at the Nationals in 1993 as a senior. Jessica lives in Sierra Vista with her beautiful daughter. She is a property owner here now

Sabrina Munez (SS/Pitcher) She is a graduate of Buena High School and was a member of the Buena Varsity softball program.  Sabrina was a hard working member of the Buena program and she along with her sister became members of the Hot Peppers softball program in the summer.  They often visited their family down in Douglas and in Mexico.  They had a very large family but both Rochelle and Sabrina loved softball.  So much so, that Rochelle became involved with the Douglas high school program for several years and Sabrina returned to Arizona after moving away for a short period.  It seems like her daughters are also interested in pursuing life in travel softball.  Coach Bill and I are working with her daughter Dennay on her pitching skills.  She is only 10 but is very coachable due to the love of the sport that her mom has shared with her.  Her other daughter just turned 12 and plays position of catcher and utility.  Sabrina along with her husband and her sister have made coaching and playing softball a reality for the kids as they put on their coaching caps in ponytail summer ball.  Both the girls play for the SV Roadrunners here in Sierra Vista.

Rochelle Munez or Rachel is the sister of Sabrina.  We used to call her Rocky and she worked behind the plate on the Peppers and played utility outfield for us.  Rocky continued on with her desire to compete in community softball programs and then moved onto  becoming an assistant Varsity coach in the Douglas High School.  She also helps coach with Sabrina in the Ponytail Youth program here in Sierra Vista. 

Sue Cross (Catcher)
Buena High School graduate. Received a softball scholarship to the University of Arizona where she was named 2 time All American Catcher.
Sue played just one season on the Hot Peppers women's team before moving.

Jenny Bivens (Shortstop)
Buena Graduate. Softball scholarship to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. Served in the Air Force. Currently lives in El Paso with her daughter. Jenny played with the Peppers 16 and under team when she was only 11 and was a member of the 1993 women's team in Nationals. She played for the Peppers 7 years.
Lette Fontes (Pitcher)
Buena High School graduate. Played on the Hot Peppers double A open team when only 13. Worked several years as an AIA-ASA umpire in Sierra Vista. Lette played with the Peppers for 6 seasons.

Lisa Wilson (Outfielder)
Buena graduate. Played softball for Central Arizona on a softball scholarship and then attended Northern Arizona University. Currently lives in Hereford with her husband and two children. Played on the Hot Peppers open AA team at the age of 17 for one year.

Michelle Hiser (Second Base)
Buena High School Graduate. Attended Central Arizona College on a softball scholarship and received her degree. Currently lives and works in Phoenix with her husband and children. Shelly played on the Hot Peppers women's team open AA when only 16 and played until she was 19.

Adrianna Rivera (Outfielder)
Audi was a graduate of Tombstone High School and attend Neosho Junior College in Kansas on softball scholarship. She was on the 18 an under team for two seasons.

Haley Bell (Catcher)
Buena High Graduate. Received softball scholarship to Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona. Haley started working with Pepper coaches when she was 11 but started playing when she was 16,playing until she graduated from high school. Haley was married this spring 2007 in Sierra Vista.

Yvonne Naterra (Third Base)
Buena High School graduate. Yvonne attended Pima College on a softball scholarship for two years. Yvonne began play at the age of 14 with the Hot Peppers women's open AA team and played for 7 years.
Yvonne was neamed to NJCAA All American team. She now lives with her daughter in Phoenix.

Sue McKinney (Townsend) (First Base/Catcher)
Graduate of Buena High School. Member of the Hot Peppers women's open AA team. Sue was a member of the Peppers for over 10 years and played on the the tourney women's teams. She lives with her husband Ste(Steve was one of the Pepper coaches for several years with the women's team). Sue has just retired and is enjoying her retirement and grandchildren.

Dawn Fiddes (First Base/Outfield)
Dawn is a Buena graduate. She attended Connor State in Oklahoma on softball scholarship then attended Pacific Christian College on scholarship until her graduation. Dawn played on the Hot Peppers 16 and under team for three seasons. She currently lives and teaches in Sierra Vista and is now married has one child and expecting her second baby.

Lori Browning (Pitcher)
Lori graduated from Willcox High School. She attended Neosho Junior College in Kansas on a softball scholarship and then attended Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico. Lori played for three sesaons with the Peppers 18 and under team.

Debbie Waynik (Catcher)
She graduated from Buena High School. She received a four year softball scholarship to San Diego State College. She played at 14 with the Pepperettes for three years before playing with the Peppers women's team in open AA softball. She played with team for 2 more seasons. She now lives and works in Washington and coaches softball.

Elma Rude (Pitcher)
Graduate of Salpoint High School. Attended Pima College on softball scholarship. Played with the Peppers when only 14 on the Hot Peppers women's team open AA. She was a member of the Peppers team that played in Canada. She played for 4 years with the Hot Peppers. Last known to reside in Tucson with her family.

Catherine Buckmire (Pitcher)
Bgaduated from Buena High School. Attended Arizona Western on a softball scholarship (giving up play of softball for health reasons to continue college on a volleyball scholarship). Cat played for two years on the 16 and under Hot Peppers for two years before playing with the 18 and under team for two years. Cat lives in Sierra Vista and works on Fort Huachuca. She is actively involved in area volleyball thru Club Cochise.

Carol Nelson (Third base/Outfield)
Carol played third base and outfield for the earlier Hot Peppers.
She was a member of the Hot Peppers women's open AA team. She played with the Peppers for several years before playing slowpitch. She continues th tradition of softball through her daughters who played fastpitch.

Kelly Nelson (Outfield/First Base)
Kelly graduated from Buena High School. She was a member of the 16 and under Hot Peppers for two years. She played on the Peppers team that played in the 1999 TCS Nationals in Colorado. Kelly lives and works in Sierra Vista while attending Cochise college. Kelly recently had her baby here and she still resides in Sierra Vista.

Amanda Orosco graduated from Sahuarita High School. She played on the 16 and under Hot Peppers for 2 seasons and later played on a Alley Cats-Tucson team in 18 and under that went on to win in Nationals-Grace Leteule was also a member of that team. Amanda went to college on a softball scholarship.

Sarah Bundy (First Base)
Played with Peppers two seasons before leaving and attending high school in Germany. Sarah attended a military academy and is now an officer in the army. She played on the 16 and under Peppers.

Shannon Conway (Outfielder/Catcher)
Graduated from Buena. Attended Eastern Arizona on a softball/basketball scholarship. She transferred to Eastern Oklahoma and then attended the University of Florida on softball scholarship. Shannon played on the 16 and under Peppers and on the 18 and under Peppers for two seasons.

Rene Espinoza (Pitcher)
Graduated from Tucson High. She played with the Peppers one season and attended the 89 women's Nationals with the Peppers in Tucson. She played on a softball scholarship at CAC and later attended college at University of Florida. Was named to several All American teams.

Sandy Tenny (Pitcher)
Graduated from Buena and attended Southwest Texas State College on a softball scholarship. Sandy played with the Peppers for two seasons on the women's Hot Peppers at the age of 16. Residence is in Sierra Vista. Sandy works at the High school with the kids with disability issues. She has three children.

Marcella *Reyes (Pitcher)Johnson
Marcie graduated from Buena. She was an original member of the Pepperettes and received a softball scholarship Steve Austin State University in Texas. Marcie played with the Pepperettes for two seasons. She is currently residing in Sierra Vista with her husband and children and is continuing a tradition by coaching softball at the Buena High School Freshman team. Her daughter Libby is a member of the summer team the 14 and under Diamonds that Marcie and her husband coach.

Anna Poore (Pitcher/First Base)
Graduated from Catalina High School. Anna played with the Peppers for one season as a pitcher/first base and DH. She was an outstanding lefthanded pitcher and hitter. She attended Central Arizona for one year before transferring to the University of Oregon on softball scholarship. Anna lives with her husband and children in Tucson and is a teacher.

Stacey Griffith (Catcher)
Graduated from Tombstone High School a semester early and attended El Paso Comunity College on a softball scholarship. Stacey was a member of the 18 and under Hot Peppers for three years. She is now living in Sierra Vista area and is married with one child.

Elizabeth Pearce (DH/Outfielder)
Buena High School Graduate. Liz was a member of the Hot Peppers 18 and under team for one season before attending Vernon Regional Junior College in Texas on softball scholarship as an outfielder/DH.

Tammie Mros (First Base/Outfielder)
Graduate of Buena High School an a member of the Hot Peppers women's team for two years. She attended college in Louisiana on scholarship and later graduated with her degree. She lives with her husband in Virginia and plays slow pitch there.

Kim Harder (Pitcher)
Graduated from Buena and played with the Pepper farm team the Pepperettes for Two years and then with the Hot Peppers women's team for two seasons. Kim was a pitcher/outfielder with the team. She attended Pima Community College on a softball scholarship. Kim lives and works in Tucson.

Maria Lopez (Second Base)
Graduated from Buena and attended Eastern Arizona on softball scholaship. Maria played with the women's AA open Hot Peppers team for one season. She lives with her family in Phoenix. Maria's twin sisters also played for the Peppers as well as her other two sisters.

Laura Cox (Shortstop)
Graduated from Buena High School. Laura was only 14 when she began to play with the Hot Peppers women's ope AA team. She later attended Central Arizona. She was one of the first youth players to receive a softball scholarship.

Brenda Ryan (Catcher)
Graduated from Buena High School. Brenda played with the women's Hot Peppers team for two years when 17. She traveled with the team to Canada during her senior year. Brenda played at Eastern Arizona on softball scholarship until graduation and then returned to marry her fiance in Hawaii where she still lives with her family.


Kaye Dean (Second Base/Pitcher)
Played with the Hot Peppers AA open team for two seasons before beginning the Nuggets. Kaye was the Varsity Coach at Buena for several years and a teacher in the SV school district. Her team had several youth players on it although it competed against the Peppers.

Norma Gallegos (Second Base)
Taught at Sahuaro High School in Tucson. Norma competed many years on the Por Sols in Tucson before coming to play with the Peppers. She played with the Hot PEppers for one season and was a member of the AA open team on their two week tour of Canada in tourney play.

Carol Cummings (Catcher/Outfielder)
Graduated from Pima college in Tucson. Carol played for several years against the Peppers and then became a member of the Sierra Vista team and played for 4 years with the team commuting from Tucson.

Bessie Ludwig (Catcher)
Graduated from Buena High School. Played with the 18 and under Peppers for one season before attending college in Nebraska (private college) on a softball scholarship. She graduated from college and got married there.

Stacey Williams (Pitcher/First Base)
Graduated from Benson High School. Stacey was a member of the Hot Peppers women's AA open team for two years. She attended Pima Community College on a softball scholarship.

Pam Diehl (Shortstop)
Graduated from Benson High School. She was a member of the Peppers women's AA open team for one year.

Annette Elzy (Catcher/Outfielder)
Graduated from Buena High School. Annette was a member of the Hot PEppers 18 and under team for two years before attending Eastern Oklahoma on a softball scholarship.

Julie Scudder (First Base)
Graduated from Buena High School. Julie played with the Nuggets prior to playing with the Peppers for two years. She was 16 on the Peppers Women's AA Open team. Julie attended Southwest Texas State on a softball scholarship. She currently lives in Texas with her family.

Becky Babuca (Shortstop)
Becky played with the Hot Peppers women's AA open team for 7 years before playing with another local team the Nuggets. She was Assistant Varsity Coach at Buena for several years. She resides in Benson.  Both of Becky's daughters played for the Hot Peppers in the 15 and under division. Becky recently attended the memorial service for our daughter Tisha, she has just married after being a widow for 9 years and was in great spirits.  Becky had a heart attack a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving and passed away.  We mourn her loss.

Donna Bennett (First Base)
Graduated from Buena High School. Daughter of Don and Peggy Bennett(coaches of the Pepperettes). Donna played with the Pepperettes 16 and under team from the age of 13. She moved to the Hot Peppers women's team before her senior year and played for two years with the women's team. She attend the University of Arizona. Donna got her BA degree at the UofA and now lives and works in the united states with her husband and three daughters.

Fran Scott (First Base)
Graduated from Buena High School. Fran started play with the Hot Peppers women's AA open team at 14 and played with the team until she was 21. Fran graduated from the UofA and was an officer in the Navy.
She has two children.

Paige Chastain (Third Base)
Graduated from Buena High School. She played with the Peppers 16 and under and 18 and under team for three years. Paige received a softball scholarship to Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, Texas.

Denise Wilson (Pitcher/First Base)
Graduated Sahuaro High School. Played with the Hot Peppers Women's AA Open team for one season. She had a softball scholarship to ASU.
Is now a police officer in Tucson.

Laurie Tayler (Pitcher/outfield)
Graduated from CDO High School in Tucson. She commuted to play with the Hot Peppers from Tucson. She played for 3 seasons with the Hot Peppers Women's AA Open team. Laurie had one of the last softball scholarships offered at NAU in Arizona.

Dionne Swan (Pitcher)
Graduated from high school in Tucson but commuted to play with the Hot Peppers women's team in 1993. She had a softball scholarship to ASU.

Amber Mattox-graduate of Buena High School in 2003. Amber played for several years with the Tucson Roadrunners before graduation from high school. She has been attending college in Phoenix and recently began playing fall ball. During her play at the Fiesta College Showcase tourney in Tucson, Amber was observed by Eastern Arizona. We highly recommend Amber who hopes to begin her first season of play with the Peppers in summer of 2004.It was our pleasure to recommend this talented athlete so that she can renew her love of the game of softball while pursueing her college education.

Tonia Ramirez is currently attending Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Texas. Tonia graduated from college this past 2007. She is a graduate of Tombstone High School.

Ginger Lee is  now a graduate from Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She received the softball scholarship this 2004 season. Ginger is the daughter of Clayton and Sally Lee. She is a Tombstone High School graduate. Ginger graduated in 2005 and currently works in Sierra Vista. She will step into some coaching shoes in 2006 as she goes to work with the Peppers summer team.  Ginger got married in 2009 and works in the school system here in Sierra Vista.

Michelle Kraft-was a Buena graduate and played on the peppers 16 and under team for 3 seasons. Michelle recently got married and is now living in Hawaii. She is working for the Fry Food Stores in the pharmacy department and currently studying in college there. Michelle recently had a little girl and still lives in Hawaii with her family.

Annette Caminos graduated from Santa Rita High School and played with the women's Hot Peppers team. She went on to attend college and play at Pima Community College.  Your Hot Pepper team was the first ASA team I played for back in 1984 just out of high school.  My name was Annett Caminos, every time I go to Sun City and pass the Milwaukee Bruins stadium I remember playing the Sun City Saints.  I did continue to play fast pitch till I was 21 then played slow pitch being that they moved all the games to Phoenix back then.  I have been coaching my own daughters my oldest played BobbySox 1994 then ASA and my two youngest have been playing since 2000 starting in Bobby Sox and now at 12 I coach their 14U ASA team and get to pitch batting practice twice a week.  Wish me luck I was invited to play in the World Masters Tournament in 2009 in Sydney Australia for a team in Portland OR.  Take care and maybe I might run into to you on the ball field somewhere.  Thank you for believing in me when I was so young it helped my confidence and I have not forgotten you and the experience I had playing on your team.  Take care...
Annett Strack (Caminos)



Christy Anderson graduated from Buena High School and played on the women's Pepper team.   She was the daughter of justice of the peace Anderson. Christy was the winner of the Miss Sierra Vista and Miss Cochise County Titles and went on to compete in Miss Arizona and continued to be a member of the Hot Peppers in the early days when women rarily let it be known that they were athletes.


Judy Vallejos graduated from Buena and was a member of Varsity for 4 years. She attended Yavapaii Junior College on a basketball scholarship. She was a member of the Hot Peppers' Women's team from the age of 14 through two years at college. She is married and lives in Phoenix, Arizona

2004 Kelly Gierke returned to help play with the Peppers during the summer season of play, after an absence of two playing seasons. She was a member of the Peppers team with Clayton Lee in the 18 and under in 1999,2000,2001. She played first base, Catcher, pitcher, and outfield during this time. Kelly is currently attending Cochise College as a student and works part-time in Tucson.

Laura Painter-one of the young players who first played with the Peppers as a freshman on the women's AA team. She is currently living in Arizona with her family. She played for two seasons in 1971.

Kim Markey-outstanding early player in 15 and under Peppers back in the 1988 era. She was left handed, caught and played outfield. Kim had a promising future, but only played part of the season because her parents moved from Sierra Vista.

Rebecca Riddlehoover-played on the 1982 Peppers that went to the very first 12 and under Nationals in Kansas. She was one of the teams pitchers and also played second base and outfield.

Kelsey Baker-was a member of the Hot Peppers in 1999 as a training player and attended the TCS Nationals with the team in Steamboat Springs Colorado-16 and under team. Daughter of Coach Tim Baker-Buena Varsity Coach for 5 yrs with his official assistant coach-Sandy Roberts. Kelsy attends NAU currently.

Amber Shaver-was a member of the 2002 Hot Peppers. Amber played SS, 3d, and OF. She was a member of the Buena Varsity team in 2003 and 2004. Amber is currently attending the UofA on Academic scholarship.

Abbie Stewart-a member of the 16 and 18 and under Hot Peppers. Traveled with the Peppers to the 1999 TCS Nationals in Colorado. Played as a member of the Peppers for three years before playing for the Alley Cats with sister Beth when they won the 18 and under ASA Nationals.

Tara Shaver - was a member of the 1999 Hot Peppers. She played in the OF as a member of the 16 and under team when they traveled to the TCS Nationals in Steamboat Springs, Colorado-currently attending Uof A.

Laura Cox-played with the women's team when only 15 and when she graduated from high school, was one of the first Peppers to attend Central Arizona on a softball scholarship back in 1973,

Mary Dobbins-played with the women's team when she was 16 at second base. She also played in the outfield. Mary took a commission in the Army as an officer and she now lives in Sierra Vista with her husband and two children. Her daughter is now playing softball in ponytail.

Brittany Konrad-played fall season of 2004 with the Hot Peppers 18 and under team. She attended Benson high school where she graduated in 2005 and is now attending Eastern Arizona Junior College on softball scholarship=OF and second base.

Ambar Huish-a member of the Hot Peppers in fall of 2004 and summer 2005. Ambar was a welcome addition to the Hot Peppers and played pitcher, outfield and first base. A very talented young ball player in her junior year of high school. Ambar has moved to Nevada with hopes to return for the summer softball season in 2006. She is missed. Ambar graduated high school in 2007.

Brittny Baynes-a member of the Hot Peppers in 2004=playing in the outfield. Began play on the 18 and under Peppers as a 13 year old in training who by the end of the summer, had earned a starting position. Brittny was a power hitting left handed hitter who felt the urge to become a catcher where she could get more game experience. She played the 2005 and 2006 and 2007 season with the Tucson Roadrunners.

Jenna Torres-played with Peppers in 2005 attended Benson high school and will graduate in 2006. Jenna was a pitcher and outfielder with the Peppers.

Becca Reynolds -played with the Peppers part of 2005 and attends Benson high school and will graduate in 2006. She was a utility player, and will likely play college ball here in Arizona.

Nicole Pate-played with the Peppers in 1998 and 1999. She was a catcher also at Buena High School and for the Hot Peppers. Nicole went on to college at th
