HANKS CAPTURES HOMERUN DERBY CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!
Brandon Hanks of the Tappahannock Tides captured the 2011 SVABL Homerun Derby championship today at Deltaville Ballpark in one of the most exciting Homerun Derbys in recent memory. Scott Crump of the Deltaville Deltas led off the event with a bang, blasting 10 homers over the wall. This number stood up until Hanks had his chance, knocking 10 homers over the wall. Chris King of the Deltas & Anthony Harris of the Cardinals each threatened to take the lead but fall just short with eight homers each. This led a swing off between Crump & Hanks to determine the 2011 champion. Hanks captured the 2011 title with a momentous blast over the left center field fence. Congratulations Brandon!!!!!!!!
