WEST EARNS MVP HONORS IN 2008 ALL-STAR GAME
John West earned the MVP for the West All-Stars Saturday night after pitching six scoreless innings in relief. West entered the game after the second inning and held the East squad down as the West All-Stars attempted to rebound from an 8-0 deficit. Although the comeback fell short John's contributions to the West squad were deserving of the MVP. Great job John!!!!!

2ND ANNUAL PIRATE GOLF TOURNAMENT SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 1ST!!!!!
The 2nd annual Peninsula Pirates golf tournament has been scheduled for Saturday, November 1st at Kiskiack Golf Club. Start time is 10:00 am. Cost is $75 per golfer or $300 per foursome. This includes 18 holes of golf, with cart, driving range balls, meal and awards ceremony after the round. Hole sponsorships are $100 per hole. Space is limited so call 876-2536 now to reserve your spot. Come out and enjoy a great day of golfing!!!!!

PIRATES PREPARING FOR 2008 SEASON!!!!!
The Pirates have begun preparing for the 2008 season and are looking forward to defending their 2007 championship.

PIRATES DEFEAT CANNONS TO SECURE 2007 SVABL SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!
The Pirates became the second team to capture two SVABL Spring championships Sunday as they defeated the York Cannons 12-5 at Mid-County Park in Williamsburg. With the victory the Pirates end the 2007 Spring season with a 20-8 record. The Pirates' first championship came in 2003 when they defeated the Cannons at Grafton High School. The Pirates victory in the 2007 championship capped off what has been the most competitive season thus far in the SVABL's six year existence. After defeating a tough Peninsula Cardinals team 9-2 on Saturday, August 4th, the Pirates ended up facing the Cannons three times on their way to securing the 2007 Spring championship. In their first meeting of the playoffs with the Cannons on Sunday, August 5th, the Pirates took a 5-0 lead into the 3rd inning only to have rain suspend the game until Monday, August 6th. The Pirates went on to win the game 11-7 to advance to the championship game. After the Cannons defeated the Deltaville Deltas 8-5 on Saturday, August, 11th the stage was set for a rematch of the 2003 championship. The Cannons came out strong on Sunday, August 12th, defeating the Pirates 8-3, forcing a second game. In the nightcap, the Pirates defeated the Cannons 12-5 to capture the 2007 SVABL Spring championship. The Pirates were led by Dave Gauthier's 5-5 performance and Brock Ward's 6 innings of shutout relief enroute to the title.

PIRATES GAUTHIER & HARRIS REACH MILESTONES!!!!!
The Pirates are proud to announce a couple of milestones that were met during the 2006 season. Dave Gauthier & Anthony Harris became the only two players to play in at least 100 games as a Pirate. Additionally, they are the only two players to amass at least 100 hits as a Pirate. The Pirates appreciate their dedication & commitment!!!!!
