On April 21, 2000, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) went into
effect, mandating that we obtain parental consent before collecting any personal information
from children under the age of 13. For kids it means that they cannot become members
on sites, and cannot post information such as on bulletin boards, guestbooks, or chat rooms without
their parent's consent.
The only way that we can verify that a person is over 13, or if under 13, has parental consent, is to specifically ask for this information. When you sign up on eteamz, you are prompted to enter your birth date. If this information is entered incorrectly, or if you are under 13, you will be presented with a message explaining that you will need parent/guardian approval. You will be prompted to enter the email address for your parent/guardian.
Once you follow these procedures for age verification, you will be able to
use the site in full.
