Ryan won the Single A State Championship game for South Pittsburg as a sophomore. He was All-District and All-Region 3 times. He pitched collegiately at Cleveland State, LBW and the University of Alabama at Huntsville despite battling numerous injuries. He holds the Cyclones record for most appearances by a pitcher during his career. He had taught pitching lessons at the Real Sports Academy for several years and will coach the 12U Cyclones in the fall of 2009 and summer of 2010.
