FAQ's

How much are the club fees?
Sunset West charges $500 per player on level 2- 4 teams
$600 per player on level 1 teams

How many girls are on a team?
We usually carry 9-10 players.

Does the club travel?
NO!! $500 or $600 does not cover any qualifiers or out-of-state tournments.

What does $500 or $600 cover?
2 uniform shirts, coaches registration, insurance, coaches' salaries, coaches training & tournament entry fees .  Your very own volleyball (players must provide their own black spandex)

Where & when does my daughter's team practice?
Practices are held at elementary and middle schools in Omaha, each team chooses an evening practice that works best for them.

How many coaches are there per team?
In most cases there are 2 coaches per team.

Is Sunset West just for girls in the Omaha Bryan attendance area?
No Sunset West has players from all over.

Where & When does my daughter team play?
Tournaments are all held on Saturdays & Sundays, starting in January.
Actual tournament playing schedules are not available until a few days before the tournament.

What site does my daughter's team play at?
Finalized tournament schedules are not available until the week of the tournament, so you will not know what TIME your daughter's team plays until mid-week the week of the tournament.

What session does my daughters team play
Tournaments are divided into 2 sessions a morning session that starts at 7:30 AM and ends at 2:00 PM and an evening sessions that starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 9:00 PM - you won't know what session your daughter has until mid-week the week of the tournament.

How do we know if practice is cancelled?
Check the web site OR call your coach!!

What jersey should my daughter bring?
Each player is provided with 2 jerseys and she should bring both with her - to all tournaments. WHY - In case the coach decides to use a libero our in case the jerseys are to sweaty after to pool play and the girls want to change for tournament play.

What does Sunset West have to offer?
Sunset West is a training club that has been around for 20 years, we pride ourselves in "amazing fundamental training".  Players will have the chance to learn and compete at multiple levels of volleyball.
 

When do practices start?  the first week of December, after ALL the tryouts are over the FINAL practice schedule will be posted!!

What do I do with my sweatshirt order form? - turn it in to your coach at your first practice - SWEATSHIRTS are not required - just optional

What are Friday night clinics?

New in 2009 – Sunset West will be hosting specific “skill” clinics for current players who would like some extra help and extra reps.  Local high school coaches, local college coaches and college players will serve as guest instructors.  The clinics are a free service.  Most clinics will be held at Beveridge Middle School* (check website for changes) 1616 south 120th. Times are tentatively scheduled from
