Til We Meet Agian:

After a very strong showing in the season opener with the Spartans, the Panthers had to face their rival Predators this weekend. The defense picked up were they left off last week and forced a punt on the first drive. Only to have the same done to them on their first drive, however on our punt the snap was low and the punter tried to run for the first down only to get tackled inside their own 10 yd line which made for a easy TD for the Predators. On the next drive for the Panthers it was a instant reply with the punter tacking off agian only to suffer the same fate, Predator ball inside the 10yd line.

Starting the second half down by 14 points the game started to turn into the game I thought it would be. For the last 2 weeks lots of talk at school about taking out the QBs knee. Well on the first drive of the second half the rumors came to life on a late hit by two Predators David Ward takes a shot in the knee only to be left on the field in pain. David was taking to St. Rose Hospital. X-rays show nothing broke and most likly just a sprain. However it will take a couple days for the swelling to go down to know for sure. For the record I know the hit was late as video tape shows it was, but I do not belive it was a hit intended to take him out.

In the third quarter the Predators drop back for a pass only to throw it into double coverage, but the CB and the SS tripped on each others feet and fell down to leave the WR open for a TD. At this point with are QB out and down by 3 TD the 2nd stringers took the field. Predators score agian for a 28-0 loss.

I think the referees need to stop watching the game and start watching for the calls they are there to make. The Predators players really taunted and talked alot of smack on the field. #21 couldn't seem to hold his temper back (even when winning) as he was shoving and swearing on the field only to be heard on deaf ears. After the game was over #21 stormed our sidelines swearing more and trying to start a fight (even though they won) only to have his own players and coachs grab him and take him off the field, and if that was not enough his dad also stormed the field making treats and swearing at the Panther coach. Well I see where he gets it from anyway. As both player and parent broke the code of conduct they should both be removed from the field for at least one game.

The long and short of it is that we played very very bad. We gave them all the chances to beat us with field position and they took advantage of it. We will meet agian and this time we will be ready and more people will be watching the game to ensure that the attitudes stay in check and if not we will fight to have that player removed from the field.

See ya in 5 weeks !!!!!
