What does my child need to play ball???

First and fore most, DO NOT spend a lot of money, Big 5, Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target all have great prices and clearance isles.

Below is a list of items that will make your child’s playing experience fun, safe and exciting. The league supplies, bats, helmets, balls and catching gear. Of course you can go buy these things as well, but it is a good idea to talk to your coach prior to buying a bat or catching gear!!!

(this is a must item)
Ø        Players in the 12 & Under, 14 & Under and 16 & Under will be required to provide their own helmets and face masks.

NOCSAE Approved Only, Please!!

Ø        A Softball Glove.    6, 8 and 10 & Unders all use an 11” ball, make sure that the pocket is at least 11”, but we highly recommend 12” pockets or more. 12 and 14 & Unders use a 12” ball; pockets should be at least 13”. Make sure that the gloves are flexible and not hard plastic.

(this is a must item)Ø        Compression Shorts, or biker shorts. They must be white and tight fitting to go under their shorts.

(this is a must item for safety reasons)Ø        Cleats, boys or girls. Soccer Cleats work just fine, rubber bottoms only, not metal or the kind with the screw in spikes.

(this item is optional, but highly recommended)Ø        If you purchase a batting helmet, it must have a chinstrap and a face guard. PLEASE SEE BELOW....

(this item is optional, but highly recommended)Ø        Leg guards or Knee guards.

(this item is optional, but highly recommended)Ø        Mouth guards and sports cups (boys).
