The SHOCKWAVE Baseball Program is a non-profit, independently operated organization developed to teach exceptional youth baseball players the advanced fundamentals of the game and expose them to a level of competition not otherwise available in the local recreational leagues.

Good Character, Commitment and Work Ethic will always be emphasized, required and measured in the form of Teamwork, Sportsmanship and Academics. The experience at this level of baseball and the coaching principles we have outlined for the program is intended to greatly accelerate their playing capability at the Middle/ High School and ultimately advance to the College level.

4 SHOWCASE* TEAMS (Grades 9-12) - Aubrey Heflin (843) 697-0033 or goshockwave@bellsouth.net 

• These 4 teams (15u, 16u, 17u, 18u) will be coached by paid coaches with recent professional or college playing and/or coaching experience and their schedules will primarily include weekend College Showcase events and a week long National level competition.    
• 15u, 16u & 17u Team rosters will include high school players who have demonstrated a level of commitment and ability to play baseball at the college level.  The primary focus of these teams will be on mental & physical player development and exposure to elite competition in front of college recruiters and MLB scouts.
• 18u Team Roster will include college players who have just completed their freshman season and players who have completed high school and will be playing college baseball in the fall of 2010.  This will allow the rising college players to learn from the players who have spent a year in a college program.

1. AGE CUT-OFF - The playing age is based on their age as of May 1, 2010 (i.e. as long as they don't turn 12 before May 1 of next year their playing age is 12U)

Jeff Ridgway (top) will spend his off season sharing his 10 years of professional baseball experience with ShockWave Baseball Organization as the Head Coach of 15u Showcase team and Roving Pitching Instructor.  Coach Ridgway made his MLB debut in Sept of 07' with the Tampa Bay Rays before being traded and joining the Atlanta Braves bullpen in 08'. 

Jarod Matthews (right) has joined ShockWave Baseball as the Head Coach for the 17u American Showcase team after just recently retiring from his professional playing career. Coach Matthews spent the last 6 years in the Tampa Rays organization as a Starting Pitcher.     

Mac Baroody, former SC Gamecock SS/P has joined ShockWave Baseball as the new Head Coach for the 18u National Showcase team.  Coach Baroody is also the Varsity Head Coach at Kings Academy in Florence and the Head Coach of the Florence Legion team and personal "Speed & Strength" trainer.
