09 Schedule

  1) Any team with less than 8 players must take a forfeit loss and pay umpire fee’s for both teams.

2) A team can start with 8 players. If the 9th player does not show before the start of the 5th inning in a
seven inning game, or by the start of the 6th inning, in a 9 inning game, the game will be an automatic win for the Opposing team, not a forfeit, (both teams will pay umpire fees). Both coaches will decide to either play the game for fun, or to quit after the deadline. *** Stats will stay the same, only the score will be nullified. However, If the 9th player shows, he must play and bat after 8 batters bat before him. If a batter is up when the 9th player arrives, It’s his managers duty to let the other team and umpires know he has arrived.

3) If a team forfeits, it’s the manager’s responsibility to replace the forfeit bond by check or cash for the amount of the forfeit, within two weeks. If a team forfeits a second time, before the bond is replaced, the team will not play until both fees are paid and the opposing teams scheduled will take automatic wins.
************ IN ADDITION, THERE WILL BE A $50.00 FINE (added to bond) FOR EACH FORFEIT, WHICH WILL BE ADDED TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP POT OF $500.00*************

4)   Active umpires will decide how long to wait for tardy players, before calling the game a forfeit.

5) Umpires will supply both teams with ground rules

6) ********* EACH TEAM WILL SUPPLY THE UMPIRE WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF BALLS BEFORE THE GAME STARTS and throughout the game.   SPECIAL NOTE - HOME TEAMS WILL BE DECIDED BY A COIN FLIP.

7) We are scheduled to have 2 umpires at every game. If for some crazy reason both umpires do not show up for a game, the game will be re-scheduled. We will not play games without umpires. **** Hopefully this never happens****

8) The 10 run rule will take effect after 5 full innings in a 7inning game, and after 7 full innings in a 9inning game, the home team does get their last at bat.

9) **** All players must have matching hats, shirts, and baseball pants. This has been an issue in the past, however 95% of our teams improved from the past. If nine players on the field are not sporting the same hats and shirts by the 3rd weekend of games, let myself and home plate umpire know, and that team will get a warning. If the team gets reported a second time they’ll take an automatic loss on the game.

10) A team can not drop or add players after their 9th game.

11) Any team with a player not under contract, will take an automatic loss. If the game is played the score will be nullified not the stats.

12) All managers are responsible for the up keep of each dug out (VERY IMPORTANT).

13) Team or player misconduct or major decisions - will be voted on by all managers. We the managers, have the power to terminate an individual or team from the league due to misconduct.

14) **********************       Scores must be called in the same day       *********************

15) Managers are responsible for tardiness and need to make sure their full team is at the field at least ½ hour before the game starts. I will back the umpires decision to forfeit a game due to tardiness.

16) Arguing calls – Yes, it’s healthy to argue a call, however, managers are responsible to keep their team or player under control during the heat of the battle.

17) Teams are permitted to bat up to 10 batters. ***Special note – Position players and the DH can rotate positions without the team loosing the DH spot in the line up.

18) If a player is forced to leave a game due to injury, a reserve player must come into the game before a player who has played.

19) Pitchers removed from the mound may pitch again if they stay in the game.

20) Players must have the previous years debts paid before joining a new team.

21) Rainy mornings – Managers are responsible to call each other during questionable rainy mornings 1 ½ hours before the start of a game to discuss whether the game is playable or not. Then, one of the managers must contact the league president, so the umpire coordinator can be informed that the game is on or off.   If a game is rained out and the President is not informed both teams will be responsible to pay for the umpires fees.

21) Rain outs or changed schedule games will be re-scheduled by both managers (Not the President). The league President & umpire coordinator must be informed of all make-up dates, in order to schedule umpires.

22) In all other instances, “Major League Baseball” rules will govern.
