Suisun American Little League is a program of service to youth in the community of Suisun City. It is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good leadership in the atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The movement is dedicated to helping children not only become good and decent citizens, but also to help them maintain a healthy life style absent of tobacco, drugs and alcohol. It inspires them with a goal and enriches their lives towards the day when they must take their places in the world. It establishes the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play. Our goal is to help youngsters develop citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well being through sports.
Baseball and softball embody the discipline of teamwork. They challenge players towards perfection of physical skills and bring into play the excitement of tactics and strategy. The very nature of baseball and softball also teach that while every player eventually strikes out, or is on the losing team, there is always another chance for success in the next at-bat or game.
Suisun American Little League has been chartered with Little League International for 50 years. Each year over 300 children (ages 7-12) participate in the Suisun Little League baseball program. In 2005, we expanded our program to include Girl’s Fastpitch Softball and we started with one team. The following year, the Softball program increased to 3 teams (ages 7-12) and the Baseball program expanded to include two teams of boys and girls ages 13 – 15. This year, we will be registering boys and girls not only for the Little League Baseball and Softball divisions, but also for the Junior, Senior and Big League divisions of both sports, which is for youth ages 13 – 18. We are committed to expanding our outreach to all our youth so that the entire community will benefit from the values of Little League.
