The 2009 Racquetball Doubles tournament schedule will be posted here when available. The games will start the week of February 1, or when there is sufficient enrollment.
(informatin beyond this point is from prior seasons and will be updated when more current information is available).
This is a single elimination tournament. A date and time has been assigned to each match. All matches have been scheduled for the racquetball courts in Flanagan Gym. Be sure to bring your SUID card with you to gain admittance to the facility.
There will be match sheets in a folder on the bulletin board. Find your sheet, take it with you to the match to record scores. The WINNER will take the sheet home and email the results to the hotmail account (suintramurals@hotmail.com). The match is not official until the results are emailed in.
While all matches must be played in order (ie, a winner determined prior to the start of the next round match), there is considerable flexibility allowed should participants have time conflicts. If you need to reschedule a match, first contact your opponent (click on "Teams" to the left, find your opponent's name in the list, click on that to see their contact information) to see if an alternate time agreeable to both participants, and prior to the next scheduled match, can be found. If so, BOTH participants contact the intramural department via email to suintramurals@hotmail.com to confirm the change. If a time cannot be found, the posted time remains the official time of the match.
There are normally a few racquets availabale for check-out at the Archbold service center, however it is highly recommended that players have their own racquet since neither the quality nor the availability of the check-out racquets can be guaranteed. Each team should also bring a fresh can of balls to the match. Open ONE CAN FOR THE MATCH. The loing team keeps the used can and the winning team takes the unopened can to the next match (ie you should only need ONE CAN FOR THE TOURNAMENT!).
The games are self-officiated. Should there be a discrepancy in the decision that cannot be agreed upon, the point is replayed.
Other than the above, the rules of play are those of the USRA, which can be found at their web site at: Official USRA Racquetball Rules
