Order your Suffield Baseball or Softball Jackets by June 30th

 SLL will soon be placing an order for baseball and softball jackets.  They are available in both youth and adult sizes. THIS WILL BE THE ONLY TIME THIS YEAR JACKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE. ALL ORDERS SHOULD BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN JUNE 30th.  If you would like to order, please download an order form below and mail it to SLL along with payment. Please fill the order form in completely, otherwise it will delay the order process.  No orders will be placed without full payment.  Jackets should arrive by early to mid August. (Just in time for Fall Ball). If you  are unsure about size, order one size larger.... the vendor won't exchange the jacket if you order the wrong size.
Checks should be made out to Suffield Little League and mailed to PO Box 724 Suffield CT 06078

2009 Suffield Little League Baseball Camp (July 6-10, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Daily)

Please download the registration form below for the first annual Suffield Little League Baseball Camp hosted by Bryan Brissette at the Christian Field Complex. Bryan is the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Suffield Academy. He is a graduate of and All-Ivy League catcher from Harvard. This camp will provide a great experience to all that attend. Please mark your calendars for July 6-10.  Pre-registration required by June 26, 2009.

2009 Suffield Little League Summer Ball (Age 7-11, Sign-up by June 13)

Summer Ball is open to players Little League age 7-11 and will be played in Suffield and surrounding towns.  The summer ball season runs from the last week of June to the first weekend of August.  Deadline for sign ups is June 13 for time to order uniforms.  Please make check payable to "Suffield Little League" ($50).  There will be a box at Chet's to leave signups.  Any question please email Debi Eheander at Eheanderdbb@aol.com.  See attached sign-up sheet.

2009 Suffield Little League High School Scholarship

Every year, Suffield Little League awards two $500 scholarships to seniors from Suffield who are continuing their education at an accredited college, university or technical school.  Candidates must be a graduating senior with a minimum accumulative grade point average of 2.0, and they must have participated in Suffield Little League as a player, umpire or volunteer.    More information can be downloaded below:

Volunteers Needed!!

The Suffield Little League annual meeting was held September 30th, 2008. 
There were several open board positions to be filled, but we had very few people step forward.    WE NEED YOUR HELP!   The following is a list of positions that are still open, with job descriptions below. If you are interested in any of these positions or would like more information please email info@suffieldlittleleague.com

Assistant Player Agents (baseball and softball)   (see above for description) 

Assistants to the Fund Raising Coordinator
(a)     Work with the Fund Raising Coordinator to solicit new sponsors. 
(b) Solicit new companies or individuals for advertisement board sales. 
(c) Organize other fund raising activities at the approval of the Board of Directors.

 


Assistants to the Food Booth Coordinator
Help the Food Booth Coordinator
(a) Open the booth for the season and make sure it is stocked and operational.
 
(b)Arrange volunteers for the opening, operation and closing of the booth each night.
 
(c)Ensure that daily deposits are made and that inventory levels are maintained.
 
(d) Report issues with lack of coverage to the League Coordinators
 
 

 

League Coordinators  

(a)     Record all player and coaches rosters for their league and maintain an accurate and up-to-date record.(b)     Be available to assist during the tryouts, the player draft and all other player transaction or selection meetings.  (c)     Ensure that coaches adhere to the Board approved game makeup schedule.  (d)     Report player and coaching issues to the Player Agent/Director of Coaches and assist in the investigation of such issues.  (e)     Assist the Equipment Manager in distributing and retrieving all team equipment.  (f)      Enforce the rule that games will be forfeited if a team does not follow the Saturday makeup schedule or if a team fails to staff the food booth on their schedule night. 

All-Star Site Cordinators (Baseball and Softball)

(a)     Work with the all star coaches to collect player information to be submitted to District 8.  (b)     Help the coaches to work with the Umpire Coordinator and other volunteers to coordinate for home all-star game activities.  (c)     Be the local contact for home All-Star games.  (d)     Ensure that the field is prepared for the home game.(e)     Flip the coin to determine the home team.  (f)      Keep the official scorebook or assign the task to a suitable qualified adult. (g)     Call the district organization to settle all disputes as directed by the umpire staff.
